A swing stool arm for use in a swing stool has a horizontal top flange, a horizontal bottom flange, a vertical end flange at a proximal end of the arm, a web extending down from the top flange and up from the bottom flange, and a vertical fillet at the proximal end of the arm. The vertical fillet joins the vertical end flange to the web. The vertical fillet has an open cavity so that the swing stool arm can be made from a cast molten aluminum alloy without forming shrinkage cavities.

A differential control apparatus for a self-balancing scooter includes platform interfaces, such as clamping mechanisms, configured to be rigidly connected to respective foot platforms of the self-balancing scooter, and a differential drive coupler mechanically joined to the platform interfaces to impart differential rotational motion thereto in response to a mechanical control input. A rider interface control mechanism is connected to the differential drive coupler to supply the mechanical control input in response to user control actions to control movement of the self-balancing scooter in operation.

A swing stool table kit has components to form a swing stool table. The swing stool table has a table top and pairs of swing stools on opposite sides of the table top. The swing stools swing out for a person to sit on and swing in for storage. The swing stools are made from light weight cast aluminum so that the overall weight of the kit is low. The table has footplates that extend out beyond the edge of the table but not beyond the swing stools when they are swung out so that the table will not tip over when heavier than average people all sit on one side of the table and no one sits on the other side of the table.

A acoustic damping pad is provided. The acoustic damping pad includes a first surface and an opposing second surface that are defined by a periphery. A first set of perforations extend between the first surface and the second surface of the acoustic damping pad. Each adjacent perforation in the first set of perforations is uniformly spaced apart from each other across a first select surface area of the first surface and across a corresponding first select surface area of the opposing second surface to form a uniform pattern.

In the illustrated embodiment, all of these cooling ribs () are disposed in parallel relation, and are oriented parallel to an airflow past the disk drive base plate (). An exposed primary surface () of a printed circuit board () is coplanar with base sections () associated with the cooling ribs ().

A disk drive includes a drive housing, one or more rotating storage disks, each having a storage surface, and a fluid diffuser. The fluid diffuser includes one or more stationary diffuser wings, each having a wing surface positioned near the storage surface. One or more of the diffuser wings can extend between two of the storage disks. The diffuser wing includes a surface deviation that disrupts the fluid flow over the wing surface that is caused by the rotating storage disk. The surface deviation can include an indentation in the wing surface or can extend from the wing surface toward the storage surface. In still another embodiment, the surface deviation includes an aperture that extends through the diffuser wing. Further, the fluid diffuser can include a plurality of surface deviations that are positioned along the wing surface. Further, a portion of the surface deviation can form an angle with the wing surface that is greater than approximately 0 degrees and less than approximately 180 degrees. With this design, the fluid diffuser decreases fluid velocity near the data transducers and/or the rotating storage disks.
