Wearable computer

This invention involves a computer housing that has a number of compartments for inserting or removing computer components. When a wearable computer is used, weight is extremely important. This invention allows the user to keep only the computer components he or she needs and easily remove the components that are not essential or needed.

Removable component structure for a mobile computer

This is a body-worn, hands-free activated computer that is constructed of materials that conduct heat and is heat insulating. The portion of the computer that is heat insulating is located closest to a wearer's body, the portion that is heat conducting is located farthest from the user's body. Heat is a major problem in wearable computers and this invention provides efficient ways for coping with heat generated by the CPU inside the computer housing. In addition to materials used in constructing the housing for this computer, a heat sink and heat-insulating logs are used to further deflect and direct heat away from a user.

Mobile computer

This invention involves a user supported hands free activated computer that controls to the extent possible the heat generated by computer components. Heat is an extremely important item since the computer is in contact with the user's body. The battery used to power the computer is also used as a heat insulating layer.

Insulated mobile computer

The invention involves a body-worn, hands-free computer system. The system does not rely upon a keyboard input or activation apparatus but rather has various activation means all of which are hands-free. The system can be used with other systems, other system components and communication apparatus. Also, various components of the present system can be body worn or placed in a disconnected location if desired.

Hands-free, portable computer and system

A compact, self-contained portable computing apparatus is provided which is completely supported by a user for hands-free retrieval and display of information for the user. The computing apparatus includes a voice-recognition module, in communication with a processor, for receiving audio commands from the user, for converting the received audio commands into electrical signals, for recognizing the converted electrical signals and for sending the recognized electrical signals to the processor for processing, the voice-recognition module being supported by the user. The computing apparatus further includes a display in communication with the processor for receiving information from the processor and for displaying the received information for the user, the display being supported by the user whereby the user may operate the computing apparatus to display information in a hands-free manner utilizing only audio commands.

Hands-free, user-supported portable computer

A compensating beamformer which requires orders of magnitude fewer calculations that prior art methods. A compensating beamformer is provided which comprises a plurality of sensing elements and a plurality of analog-to-digital converters, for converting incoming analog signals to digital form. Digital signals from at least four such elements are used to compute phase angle information which is combined to form a matrix of input data in the frequency domain. An unweighted steering vector is determined to sample data from the target direction. A corrector matrix is calculated based on input data from sensing elements. That corrector matrix along with its inverse, which is determined recursively, is used in combination with the unweighted steering vector to determine an optimal steering vector. The input data in the frequency domain are then multiplied by the optimal steering vector to obtain signals in the directions of interest. In preferred embodiments of this invention these calculations are repeated systolically to provide optimal steering vector updates on an essentially real-time basis.
