The present invention provides tubes for, in an exemplary embodiment, dispensing loose fill insulation. The tube comprises an inner web formed in a tubular shape and having a plurality of spaced helical projections disposed along an inner surface thereof and extending towards a central longitudinal axis of the inner web, the inner surface of the inner web also forming an inner surface of the tube. A cap is disposed around an outer periphery of the inner web. The helical projections serve to condition the insulation as the insulation passes through the tube.

An improved hose is used to install loose fill insulation. The hose includes projections extending from an inner surface which serve to condition the insulation as it proceeds through the hose and is dispensed. In a first embodiment of the present invention, the projections are formed so as to be perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the hose. In a second embodiment of the present invention, the projections are formed so as to be angled, by an angle less then ninety (90) degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis of the hose. In a third embodiment of the present invention, the projections are formed with a serrated edge. In a fourth embodiment of the present invention, the projections are formed as part of a cap member which is disposed around the periphery of the hose.

Hose used to install loose fill insulation

Dispensing equipment for dispensing blown loose-fill insulation. The equipment includes a flexible delivery conduit that conveys loose-fill insulation material from a source of such material and, possibly, an optional a rigid tubular wand connected to the distal end of the conduit. The equipment further includes structure projecting radially inwardly into the loose-fill insulation flow path of the delivery conduit and/or wand for mechanically separating the insulation material's fibers and particles prior to discharge from the delivery conduit or wand. The insulation material separating structure conditions or &ldquo;opens&rdquo; the insulation material in such a way that the material is discharged in a substantially uniform density stream of substantially uniformly distributed fibers and particles.

A strap cutting and removing device comprising a pole having a handle end and a gripping and cutting mechanism connected to a gripping actuating means. The device is capable of holding and cutting a strap, wherein the strap remains held as the strap is severed. A method for removing straps is disclosed.

Strap removal device and method

A wheeled system and a method for installing insulation from bound insulation bales. At least one movable wall that continually moves unbound insulation bales by a drive means toward a dispensing end of the base where shredding of the insulation from the unbound insulation bales occurs. The shredding is accomplished by a plurality of picker drums. Each of the picker drums has positioned on the circumference a plurality of abraders in the form of scoops that abrade and remove clumps of insulation from the unbound bales permitting the clumps to fall into a blender wherein the insulation material is formed into particulate material and then cast into an air blower formed with the hose and nozzle for dispensing the blowing material. A force measurer including a strain gauge is operatively connected to the shredder to determine continuously changes in the horizontally directed force exerted by the insulation bales against the drums of the shredder in order to adjust the force. The system can also include an electronic member for determining and monitoring the amount of insulation material dispensed and for automatically controlling the dispensing of insulation by the system.

Baled insulation material blowing apparatus and method

A dispenser for a blown fibrous insulation delivery system which is attached to a fibrous material delivery conduit of the system. The dispenser includes a pipe having a first end which is attachable to the delivery conduit and second end which carries a deflector for compressing a flow of fibrous insulation discharged through the outlet of the pipe and for changing the direction of flow of fibrous insulation compressed thereby. The deflector includes a substantially planar portion disposed at an acute angle with respect to the pipe outlet. The dispenser may also include a second deflector for changing the direction of flow of the compressed fibrous insulation.
