The invention contemplates a swivel cosmetic container of propel/repel variety wherein metering action is achieved by plural resilient detent engagements which are readily sensed as multiple equal subdivisions of each single revolution of the parts exposed for manipulated relative rotation. And a single elastomeric seal ring establishes hermetic sealing of container contents as well as detent retention of an applied closure cap.

Cosmetic container construction

The invention contemplates a cosmetic-container of the propel-repel variety wherein all parts are assembled and retained by interference fit and wherein metal-to-plastic interfaces characterize essentially all sliding engagements. The arrangement is such as to provide a luxury 'feel' through controlled drag torque (resistance) to relative rotation of the parts. And provision is made to positively retain any retracted position of the pomade carrier, whatever the remaining useful extent of involved pomade.

The invention contemplates an essentially two-piece container, comprising a container-body member and a removable screw-cap closure member incorporating a child-resistant safety-locking feature in addition to providing threaded closure and sealing of the container member. The body member has ratchet-tooth formations integrally formed therewith, said formations coacting with ratchet-tooth formations on the inner surface of the closure member, when the closure member is threaded to the container member. The body-member tooth formations are covered by the closure-member skirt when in ratchet-locked position, but the body-member tooth formations are integral with a local resiliently compliant region of the body member whereby the ratchet-locked engagement may be released upon correctly localized inward squeezing of the compliant region.

The invention contemplates a propel-repel container for cosmetic or the like substance wherein the color of the substance may be externally viewable at a location near the point of cosmetic-substance support, without requiring the container to be opened or the substance to be propelled from its retracted position within the container.

The invention contemplates a lipstick or the like container of the push-up variety featuring enhanced protection of container contents and enchanced light frictional coaction between moving parts, for ease of motional action and retention of selected positioning of parts. An upstanding elongate guide member within the container is stabilized to the container at both ends and serves both the indicated features.

The invention contemplates a pill dispenser with internal capabilities of dispensing only a selected one of a plurality of pills at a given time, and closure mechanism for the dispenser incorporates a child-resistant safety-locking feature in addition to providing threaded closure and sealing of the dispenser. The body of the dispenser has plural spaced compartments for unit-pill retention, and the closure mechanism coacts with the dispenser to assure a fully closed condition of each and every pill compartment, when the closure is secured.
