An expander tool such as for use in removing tubing from barbed fittings. The tool includes a pair of handle members having a pivotal connection therebetween. A pair of channel-shaped jaw members are operatively connected to the handle members for spreading movement in a generally parallel direction when the handle members are moved toward each other. The channel-shaped jaw members are nested with the bight portions thereof being thin and flat and in generally parallel confronting relation. The legs of the channel-shaped jaw members therefore are in overlapped relation whereby the opposite side of the thin flat bight portion of one jaw member can be positioned in close proximity to a workpiece such as the flange or elbow of a barbed fitting. The thin flat bight portions of the jaw members have slots opening outwardly of the tool, the slots each having a stepped configuration for embracing different sizes of workpieces, such as different diameters of tubing and barbed fittings.

Expander tool

A device is disclosed for individually flattening cylindrical containers, such as metal cans. A base is provided for supporting a can in a crushing position in which the can is disposed on its side on the base. A lever mechanism is pivotally attached to the base and is swingable upwardly therefrom to a raised position to permit a can to be positioned on its side on the base and downwardly toward the base for crushing the positioned can. The lever mechanism is jointed and includes a can engaging edge projecting from the joint whereby the edge is pivotable both about the pivot axis of the lever mechanism on the base and about the joint to effect crushing of one side of the can at one end thereof with the one end flattened over the crushed side. The partially flattened can then is turned over for similarly flattening the other side and other end thereof until the can is completely crushed into a flattened condition.

Can flattening device

A fluid flow regulating device for use in fluid handling systems which is capable of maintaining substantially constant flow rates over a wide range of variations in system pressure. The device includes a housing having disposed therein a conduit whose lateral wall includes one or more apertures of a predetermined configuration. A piston is disposed within the conduit and is axially displaceable, in response to pressure differentials, throughout the portion of the conduit wherein the apertures are located. A spring mechanism having a specified non-linear coefficient of stiffness is employed to yieldably resist downstream displacement of the piston. The piston and aperture together form a variable area flow passageway through which substantially all the fluid must pass. A pneumatic, thermometric mechanism may also be employed to displace the piston within the conduit in response to changes in temperature and independent of pressure variations. Finally, the device may be arranged so that its sole source of energy is derived from the air flow being regulated, thus eliminating any need for an external energy source.

Automatic fluid flow regulator

Apparatus to override the primary pneumatic circuitry of an air distribution system during warm up cycles. Means are provided for nullifying the pressure signal, indicative of ambient temperature, to which the flow controller responds. In the preferred embodiment, the override means comprises a bimetallic helical element which operates to bleed the pneumatic thermostat's air supply, thereby reducing the temperature indicative signal to zero.
