A power supply unit (PSU) configured to provide electrical power to an electronic device. The PSU may include a PSU control circuit configured to, via a power meter, detect that electrical power conveyed to the electronic device is above a timer starting threshold. In a first charging mode with a first predetermined charging duration, the PSU control circuit may control the PSU to convey electrical power to the electronic device with a first power ceiling. Subsequently to the first predetermined charging duration elapsing, in a second charging mode with a second predetermined charging duration, the PSU control circuit may control the PSU to convey electrical power to the electronic device with a second power ceiling that is lower than the first power ceiling. Subsequently to the second predetermined charging duration elapsing, the PSU control circuit may control the PSU to return to the first charging mode.

Power supply unit charging modes

The techniques disclosed herein provide enhanced security features for controlling access to shared content and private content of a document. A system can enable multiple users to access a common content file, such as a Word document. Each user can add additional private content unique to each individual user. Private content associated with a particular user is restricted from being shared with any other user. Thus, when a first user opens a file authored and/or owned by other users stored in a cloud storage service, the system allows that first user to see the common content that is shared by the other users plus private content that is unique to the first user, but not allow the first user to view other private content provided by the other users.

Enhanced security features for controlling access to shared content and private content of a shared document

Systems and methods may be used to authenticate a user using a first device (e.g., a collaboration device) and a second device (e.g., a device proximate to the collaboration device) For example, the first device may compare an authentication image of a user (captured by the second device) to an image captured by the first device (for example at a lower resolution or with a partial view). The user may be authenticated by the first device in response to identifying the user from the authentication image (e.g., by matching the authentication image to a reference image of the user) and determining a correlation between the authentication image and the captured image.

Delegated authentication systems and techniques

Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums for authenticating a user using biometric data without distributing unencrypted biometric data or decrypting biometric data during authentication, including selecting, based on a first set of data points representing a biometric characteristic of a user, an encryption parameter of an encryption function, generating first encrypted challenge data by encrypting, by applying the encryption parameter to the encryption function, challenge data to create encrypted authentication data, receiving, from a network based authentication device, during an authentication process, second encrypted challenge data for authenticating the user, and determining whether to authenticate the user using a comparison of the first encrypted challenge data to the second encrypted challenge data.

Encryption parameter selection

Examples are disclosed that relate to connector systems, magnetic plug assemblies and methods for mating a magnetic plug assembly with a plurality of receptacles. In one example, a magnetic plug assembly comprises a moveable member comprising an aperture and one or more magnets. A plug tip extends through the aperture, and one or more biasing elements urge the moveable member and the one or more magnets toward a distal end of the plug tip, with the moveable member being moveable relative to the plug tip.

A computing device stores a captured image as a transient image template when there is a failure in an image-based authentication of the captured image and the user of the computing device has provided user credentials that authorize the user to access the computing device. The transient image template may be used to further authorize the user to access the computing device during an established time period.

Face recognition in noisy environments

A system and method for data coding and transmission for improving a retry mechanism are disclosed. A system and method allow the receiver to perform decoding based on increased data bits rather than by repeatedly processing the same retransmitted information, thereby reducing the number of retries and improving the performance of a communication system. Also, with the reduced number of retries, the computing costs of the electronic devices used in the communication systems are reduced. When mobile devices are often used in wireless communication, this is particularly advantageous since the battery life of these devices is significantly improved. Moreover, the system and method provide incremental data transmission and therefore optimize the utilization of channel bandwidth.

Channel estimation and coding for throughput increase

Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums which encode data into a geometric representation for more efficient and secure processing. For example, data may be converted from a binary representation to a geometric representation using an encoding dictionary. The encoding dictionary specifies one or more geometric shapes used in the encoding. The geometrically encoded data may comprise one or more identifiers that specify one or more of the shapes of the encoding dictionary that best match one or more detected features in an image corresponding to the data. In some examples, the geometrically encoded data may also comprise one or more transformations of the one or more shapes to reduce error in the geometric encoding.

Disclosed in some examples are display systems, methods, devices, and machine-readable mediums which provide for a gesture-based method for specifying a region of a display in which to show shared content. Also disclosed are pairing methods for associating the region of the display with a content source device, methods for sharing content within the region, and methods for providing input from the region back to the content source device.

Sub-display input areas and hidden inputs

Examples are disclosed that relate to power supply devices and methods for managing DC power. In one example, a method comprises: providing DC power at a first voltage until determining that a standby time period has elapsed; determining that a load is connected to the power supply device; and based on determining that the standby time period has elapsed, entering a restricted power mode, wherein the restricted power mode comprises either: deactivating the DC power, or (1) providing the DC power at a second voltage until determining that a load detection time period has elapsed, (2) deactivating the DC power after determining that the load detection time period has elapsed, and (3) repeating (1) and (2) until determining that the load is no longer connected to the power supply device.

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for secure authentication using puncturing. An authentication system receives an encoded obfuscated authentication credential as part of an authentication request and accesses a stored authentication credential. The authentication system performs a puncturing of the encoded obfuscated authentication credential. The resulting punctured authentication credential includes a subset of individual values from the encoded obfuscated authentication credential. The authentication determines whether the punctured encoded data input corresponds to at least a portion of the stored authentication credential. In response to determining that the punctured encoded data input corresponds to at least a portion of the stored authentication credential, the authentication system approves the authentication request.

Secure authentication using puncturing

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for improved data transmissions using puncturing and error correction encoding. A decoder receives an encoded data input that includes a set of individual values. The decoder performing a puncturing of the encoded data input, yielding a punctured encoded data input that includes a subset of the individual values from the set of individual values. The decoder determines whether the punctured encoded data input maps to any predetermined data outputs from a set of predetermined data outputs, and in response to determining that the punctured encoded data input maps to a predetermined data output from the set of predetermined data outputs, the decoder determines that the encoded data input corresponds to the predetermined data output.

Data transmission using puncturing and error correction encoding

Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums for securing biometric data using an encryption technique that does not require key storage or distribution. In some examples, a first biometric template of a user is input into a function that selects or determines parameters (such as an encryption key) of an encryption function that is then used to encrypt a second biometric template of the user.
