A system and method for detecting the trajectory of a projectile is presented. One system includes a flash detection sensor, an acoustic sensor, an optical sensor and a processor logic mounted on a vehicle. The flash detection sensor detects a flash of a projectile being launched. The acoustic sensor detects when a blast wave associated with the firing of the projectile reaches the vehicle. The optical sensor takes two or more images of the same projectile. The images are typically not in the visible light spectrum. The processor logic calculates a trajectory of the projectile based on the images and data collected by the acoustic sensor associated with the blast wave. The processor logic may generate a warning signal to warn an operator of the vehicle about the projectile.

Acoustic hostile fire indicator

A system includes a way of improving an image obscured by airborne particles. The system includes a decomposition processor and an image generation processor. The decomposition processor decomposes an object of interest moving in a first image at a first rate of speed into at least one first subspace vector. This decomposition processor also decomposes fine particles moving at a different rate of speed than the object in the first image into at least one second subspace vector. The fine particles obscure the object of interest in a second image. The image generation processor generates based, at least in part on the first subspace vector and the second subspace vector, an image of the object without some of the fine particles obscuring the object of interest.

Dust removal technology for driver vision leverage

A system and method for mitigating Analog to Digital (A/D) clipping is disclosed. The mean and variance of analog input data are tracked and the bits of A/D are dynamically reassigned to keep the input signal within their range. The quantization levels of A/D are dynamically re-mapped to avoid changes in sensitivity of sensor system. The method is based on random walk statistic and keeps the sensitivity of the sensor system constant. Also the system and method provides a way to mitigate A/D clipping that avoids changing the sensitivity by dynamically re-mapping the quantization levels of the A/D, keeping the sensitivity of the system constant.

Data adaptive analog to digital converter

The present invention is an apparatus for detecting and disabling a human eye or optical device used in the fire control of a weapon. This apparatus comprises a prism having a plurality of peripheral reflective surface. This prism has a longitudinal axis and rotating about said longitudinal axis. An infrared (IR) laser directs an infrared laser beam toward the prism side that the laser beam is reflected toward the human eye or optical device, such that the IR laser beam is retroreflected to the prism. There is also an infrared IR detector which detects the IR retroreflected laser beam reflected from the prism. A visible light wavelength laser which produces a visible light wavelength laser beam which is reflected from the prism to the human eye or optical device to disable the human eye or optical device to prevent use of the weapon.

Method and apparatus for detecting and disabling optical weapon sight

A real-time implementation of a subspace tracker is disclosed. Efficient architecture addresses the unique computational elements of the Fast Approximate Subspace Tracking (FAST) algorithm. Each of these computational elements can scale with the rank and size of the subspace. One embodiment of architecture described is implemented in digital hardware that performs variable rank subspace tracking using the FAST algorithm. In particular, the FAST algorithm is effectively implemented by a few processing elements, coupled with an efficient Singular Vector Decomposition (SVD), and the realization/availability of high density programmable logic devices. The architecture enables the ability to track the possibly changing dimension of the signal subspace.
