A pressure control system varies a parameter of a gas flowing out of the well to artificially generate a pressure value at a fluid mover. The fluid mover receives fluid from a conduit such as a dip tube positioned in the well. The system may also include a flow control device controlling a gas flow out of the well and a controller controlling the flow control device using information relating to at least one wellbore parameter.

Gas production using a pump and dip tube

A progressing cavity rod-driven well pump utilizes a tag shoulder above a helical passage of the stator. The pump stator is located at the lower end of a string of tubing. The tag shoulder is more restrictive than a passage through the tubing. A pump rotor is secured to a string of rods and has a stop located above the rotor. The rotor is lowered on the rods until the stop lands on the tag shoulder. Then the operator lifts the rods and the rotor to accommodate for expected stretch during operation. By removing the rods and rotor, monitoring tools can be lowered through the tag shoulder and stator.

Method and apparatus for aligning rotor in stator of a rod driven well pump

A progressive cavity pump housing is secured to the lower end of a string of tubing. A motor is secured to the progressive cavity housing. An electrical power cable is strapped to the motor alongside the tubing. The pump has a pump rotor located within a stator. The pump rotor has a driven shaft extending downward from its lower end which mates with a drive shaft extending upward from the motor. When the pump reaches the motor, the driven shaft will stab into the drive shaft. The upper end of the pump rotor extends above the stator and is configured to engage an overshot retrieval tool. To retrieve the rotor, the operator lowers an overshot retrieval tool through the production tubing and latches it to the upper end of the pump rotor. The operator pulls the rotor out of the pump, thereby disengaging the rotor from the drive shaft of the motor, and leaving the remainder of the pump and the motor in place. After flushing the pump stator, the rotor may be lowered back through the tubing into the stator and reengaged to the drive shaft.
