An aqueous diazo coating composition is disclosed to be used in accordance with an alkaline vapor development system, containing a hydrolyzed resin together with a diazo light-sensitive compound, coupling agent and stabilizing materials. The aqueous diazo coating composition of the present invention provides a method of fabricating a light-sensitive diazo member for use in combination with a development system utilizing alkaline vapors which excludes the use of organic solvents.

A diazo microfilm which is resistant to fading upon exposure to strong light for extended periods of time is provided. The fade-resistant diazo microfilm is produced by saponifying a cellulose alkanoate film to an extent defined by certain infrared absorption parameters.

A translucent sheet bearing opaque graphic intelligence thereon coated with a film which absorbs ultraviolet light, whereby the passage of visible light therethrough projects a legible image while light in the ultraviolet range is not transmitted so that diazotype copies cannot be produced of the graphic intelligence.

A light-sensitive diazotype material comprising a base support having a coating thereon which comprises a light-sensitive diazonium compound and a coupling component having the general formula ##SPC1## Wherein R is hydrogen, a lower alkyl radical, halogen or aryl, and R' is hydrogen or SO.sub.3 M wherein M is a monovalent cation.
