A foldable display includes: a flexible display panel including: an impact absorbing layer including a metal film; and a display layer provided on a surface of the impact absorbing layer; a first region, a second region, and a third region that are included in a region of the flexible display panel, the third region being positioned between the first region and the second region; a first support substrate that is inflexible, the first support substrate supporting the first region from toward the impact absorbing layer; a second support substrate that is inflexible, the second support substrate supporting the second region from toward the impact absorbing layer; a folding mechanism connected to the first support substrate and the second support substrate, and overlapping with the third region in plan view; and a slit provided to the metal film at least in a first position at a shortest distance, from the third region, shorter than a shortest distance from an end portion of the first region across from the third region, or in a second position at a shortest distance, from the third region, shorter than a shortest distance from an end portion of the second region across from the third region.

A light emitting device comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and an emissive layer (EML) between the first electrode and the second electrode and electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode. The EML comprises a charge transport matrix of a first polarity, a plurality of quantum dots in the charge transport matrix, and a plurality of charge transport nanoparticles of a second polarity in the charge transport matrix.

A light-emitting layer structure that maximizes constructive interference for light emission by varying a phase shift introduced by reflective electrodes. The light-emitting layer structure includes a first and second optical cavity including a first and second reflective electrode; a first and second partially transparent electrode; and a first and second emissive layer (EML) disposed between the first and second reflective electrodes and the first and second partially transparent electrodes, wherein the first EML emits light having a first wavelength; wherein the first reflective electrode introduces a first phase shift, depending on the first wavelength, on reflection of light emitted by the first EML; and wherein the second EML emits light having a second wavelength and the second reflective electrode introduces a second phase shift, depending on the second wavelength, on reflection of light emitted by the second EML, and the first phase shift is different from the second phase shift.

High-efficiency QLED structures

A light-emitting device incorporates an electrode that includes conductive nanoparticles to increase emission performance. Multiple light-emitting devices may constitute sub-pixels that are combined into a pixel, such as for a display device, wherein each sub-pixel emits light of a different color. Thicknesses of the charge transport layers are the same for the sub-pixels, and/or emissive layer portions of the different sub-pixels have different thicknesses.

A light-emitting structure maximizes constructive interference for light emission by adjusting charge carrier mobilities of different sub-pixel emissive layers such that charge recombination occurs at a boundary of each emissive layer and one of the charge transport layers. The light-emitting layer structure includes two electrode layers that respectively generate first and second charges that are carried via first and second charge transport layers, and a plurality of emissive layers (EMLs) including a first EML having a first charge mobility favoring the first charges and a second EML having a second charge mobility favoring second charges. A light-emitting device is optimized for radiative recombination and minimizes non-radiative recombination. The light-emitting device includes an emissive layer, a first electrode and a second electrode from which charges are generated, a first charge transport layer that injects charges from the first electrode into the emissive layer, and a second charge transport layer that injects charges from the second electrode into the emissive layer. At least one of the charge transport layers includes a mixture of a first nanoparticle population and a second nanoparticle population, and the first nanoparticle population and the second nanoparticle population are conductive nanoparticles that are energetically non-aligned as between the first nanoparticle population and the second nanoparticle population. Nanoparticles of the first nanoparticle population and the second nanoparticle population are energetically non-aligned with each other by being made of different materials, by having nanoparticles of different sizes, and/or by having nanoparticles of different shapes.

A light-emitting device includes an emissive layer that emits light by recombination of first charges and second charges, a first electrode from which the first charges are supplied, a second electrode located on an opposite side of the emissive layer relative to the first electrode from which the second charges are supplied, and a charge transporting layer that is located between the emissive layer and the first electrode that injects the first charges from the first electrode into the emissive layer. The charge transporting layer includes a nanoparticle layer that provides a roughened electrode interface between the first electrode and the charge transporting layer and the emissive layer includes a plurality of quantum dots in electrical contact with the first electrode and the second electrode.
