A processing and detection system for detecting presence of at least one gluten protein in a food sample comprises a food processor including: a reservoir containing a process liquid for processing the food sample; a body that comprises a chamber configured to receive the food sample; and a pressing surface configured to press on the reservoir to cause the process liquid to exit the reservoir and mix with the food sample, thereby generating a processed food liquid; and an exit port configured to conduct the processed food liquid out of the food processor; and a cartridge including: at least one sensor configured to receive the processed food liquid and to generate an electrical signal in response to interaction with the at least one gluten protein in the processed food liquid, and an analyzer in electrical communication with the at least one sensor for detecting the electrical signal and determining the presence of the at least one gluten protein in the food sample based on the detected electrical signal.

Device and method for chemical analysis

In one aspect, a method of detecting tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in a sample is disclosed, which comprises bringing the sample into contact with a graphene layer functionalized with an antibody exhibiting specific binding to THC, applying a time-varying electric field to said antibody-functionalized graphene layer, monitoring electrical resistance of said graphene layer in response to interaction with said sample, and detecting presence of THC in the sample by detecting a change in said electrical resistance indicative of interaction of THC with said anti-body functionalized graphene layer.

Methods and devices for detection of THC

Methods and devices for detecting a target agent of interest, e.g., a pathogen, in a sample are described herein. In some embodiments, a sensor is provided that can include a substrate, a graphene layer disposed on a surface of said substrate, and a protein bound to said graphene layer. The protein can be capable of binding to one or more target agents of interest, e.g., pathogens, etc. The binding of the protein to the one or more target agents of interest can generate a change in an electrical property of the graphene layer.

In one aspect, a method of detecting a pathogen, e.g.,bacterium,bacteria, gonorrhea bacteria and/or HPV, in a sample is disclosed, which comprises bringing a sample into contact with a graphene layer functionalized with an antibody exhibiting specific binding to the pathogen, monitoring electrical resistance of said antibody-functionalized graphene layer in response to interaction with said sample, and detecting presence of the pathogen in said sample by detecting a change in said electrical resistance indicative of interaction of the pathogen with said antibody-functionalized graphene layer. For example, a decrease of the electrical resistance of the graphene layer can indicate the presence of the pathogen in the sample under study. In some embodiments, a method according to the present teachings is capable of detecting pathogens, such asbacteria,bacteria, gonorrhea bacteria and HPV in a sample at a concentration as low as 4 cfu per 100 grams of a sample.

Methods and devices for detection of pathogens

Antibodies and antigen-binding fragments of antibodies that bind GCC are disclosed. The antibodies bind an extracellular domain of GCC and can be internalized. In some embodiments, the antibodies are humanized, chimeric or human. Nucleic acids and vectors encoding the antibodies or portions thereof, recombinant cells that contain the nucleic acids, and compositions comprising the antibodies or antigen-binding fragments are also disclosed. The invention also provides therapeutic and diagnostic methods utilizing the antibodies and antigen-binding fragments provided herein.

Anti-GCC antibody molecules and related compositions and methods

The present invention provides compositions and methods useful for promoting or reducing T-cell trafficking to a target tissue. Also provided are compositions and methods useful for promoting or inhibiting antigen-presenting cell (APC) activation. The invention is related to discovery of functional characteristics of TIM-3, a molecule that is preferentially expressed on the surface of Th1 cells. The methods are useful for treating disorders including cancer, infectious disease, allergy, asthma, and autoimmune disease.

Compositions and methods related to TIM-3, a TH1-specific cell surface molecule

Isolated ligands which bind a molecule expressed on the surface of T cells and induce antigen specific apoptosis in activated T cells are disclosed. Preferably, the T cell surface molecule is CTLA4 and the ligand is a monoclonal anti-CTLA4 antibody that binds to an epitope of CTLA4 distinct from the binding sites of B7-1 and B7-2. Upon binding of the antibody to CTLA4 on an activated T cell, in the presence of an antigenic signal, antigen specific apoptosis is induced. The invention also describes a novel natural CTLA4 ligand, distinct from B7-1 and B7-2, which mediates induction of apoptosis. Pharmaceutical compositions of anti-CTLA4 antibodies or other isolated CTLA4 ligands which can be administered to subjects to induce T cell apoptosis, thereby clonally deleting antigen specific T cells, such as alloreactive T cells in transplantation situations or autoreactive T cells in autoimmune disorders, are also disclosed. Methods for inducing T cell apoptosis in vitro with an anti-CTLA4 antibody or other ligand of the invention together with an antigen specific signal are also disclosed, e.g., for use in purging alloreactive T cells from donor bone marrow prior to bone marrow transplantation to inhibit graft versus host disease.
