A latch for installing and removing a disk drive from an enclosure. The latch comprises a pair of guide members ( ), a disk drive support ( ), and an actuator ( ). The actuator includes a pair of pinions ( ) in meshing engagement with teeth on the guide members ( ) for moving the disk drive in a linear direction.

This invention relates to hinges in general. More particularly, the invention is concerned with hinges wherein it is desired to have no parts of the hinge visible on the outside of a door or enclosure, where, typically in prior art hinges, a hinge pin is located about which the door rotates about the enclosure frame. The hinge of the present invention is visible from only one side of a door and has a first crescent member having a mounting means for mounting to the door and an arcuate cutout, the arcuate cutout describing a radius about a point that is an actual hinge point of the door relative to the frame, a second crescent member having a mounting means for mounting to a frame, and a pair of protruding cylindrical members adapted to be received within the arcuate cut out, the cylindrical members adapted to secure the first crescent member to the second crescent member. The first crescent member is movable about the actual hinge point with respect to said second crescent member.

A one-piece catch for installation on a panel having a front side and a rear side, for holding a folding handle in a folded position to the front side of the panel, or an other article in place, including a panel attachment means for installing the one-piece catch on the panel by inserting the one-piece catch through the panel and rotating the catch ninety degrees to seat the catch in position, and a releasable pawl formed integral to the panel attachment means having a head section with a camming surface adapted to contact the handle as the handle is folded to the folded position, the handle moving the pawl back to force the pawl away from the handle as the handle is latched to the one-piece catch, the pawl springing forward as the handle passes over the camming surface to seat the handle under the pawl, the handle releasable from the pawl by the application of pressure to the pawl away from the handle.

A folding handle device is disclosed, mountable to an article to be carried, having a rotatable U-shaped handle with leg members adaptable to pivotally receive a mounting shaft, each leg member having a base having planar surfaces in which the handle be held upright or folded. The device further includes two mounting shafts rotatably mounted to the handle through apertures in a planar mounting surface and are retained in place by a nut. A spring between the nut and the bottom side of the mounting surface bias the mounting shaft away from the bottom side of the planar mounting surface. The handle is adapted to facilitate axial movement of the shafts relative to and perpendicular to the planar mounting surface as the handle is rotated between the upright and folded positions, wherein when the handle is either in the upright position or folded position, the spring is under a compressive load, and during the transition from the upright to folded positions and the transition from folded to upright positions, the spring is under a greater compressive load than that when the handle is in the upright position or folded position.
