Mechanisms for pulling a tensile member a predetermined distance from a medical device having an intracorporeal end and an extracorporeal end are disclosed. Such mechanisms may be safely operated using a robot, two hands, or in some embodiments, only one hand. Such mechanisms may include one or more cams, drums, or pulley-like members and a lever, and may be physically coupled to an extracorporeal portion of the medical device.

Apparatus for and method of pulling a tensile member from a medical device

A miniature wire connector for connecting a transmission cable, defined by a plurality of coaxial cables, to an electronic imager assembly. The connector includes a substantially non-conductive supporting body, and a plurality of grooves formed in the outer surface of the body. At least a portion of each of the grooves includes a layer of conductive plating formed thereon, the grooves retaining at least an axial portion of at least one coaxial cable.

Miniature connector with improved strain relief for an imager assembly

A gage mechanism for a blood pressure measuring device or other similar apparatus includes a supported shaft member having one end in contact with an inflatable bellows. A pointer is attached at an opposite end of the shaft and a helically wound spring is attached to the shaft and a supporting structure. As the bellows inflates, the shaft is axially displaced and causes rotation due to the constraint of the helical ribbon spring, causing a corresponding angular deflection of the attached pointer relative to an indicating scale. The mechanism includes a first adjustment member for allowing the pointer to be preset to a zero or calibrated position, and a second adjustment mechanism that controls the amount of angular rotation of the shaft and pointer for a displacement of the bellows.

Mechanism for measuring device

A solid state imager assembly for use in an endoscope in which a TAB imager package is mounted within the horizontal leg of a T-shaped support member. Circuitry for servicing the imager is mounted on the vertical leg of the support member. In one embodiment of the invention, the vertical component of the T-shaped support member comprises two half-sections.

Tab imager assembly for use in an endoscope

A solid state imager assembly for use in an insertion tube of a video endoscope that includes a TAB imager package having fine pitch leads extending outwardly to either side of the imager. A transparent window covers the imager. A first hybrid board is attached to one set of leads and a second hybrid circuit board is attached to the second set of leads. The boards are turned downwardly to either side of the imager and placed in opposed parallel alignment beneath the imager. Circuitry is mounted on the opposed inside surfaces of the boards. A block of encapsulating material is placed between the boards to encapsulate the circuitry therein and provide structural support to the package.
