A method including receiving, by a second user device, access to encrypted content and an encrypted first private key, the encrypted content being determined by utilizing a first private key associated with a first user device and the encrypted first private key being determined by utilizing a second public key associated with the second user device; determining, by the second user device, that the second user device is to restore access of the first user device to the content within a given duration of time set by the first user device; decrypting, by the second user device, the encrypted first private key by utilizing a second private key; decrypting, by the second user device, the encrypted content by utilizing the first private key to determine the content; and transmitting, by the second user device within the given duration of time, the content to the first user device is disclosed.

Stateless system to restore access

The disclosure describes transmitting, by a user device to an infrastructure device, access information to enable authentication of the user device; calculating, by the user device, a hash of private data, the hash of the private data to be utilized for comparison with a hash of breached data that is compromised due to a data breach, the private data being different from the access information; verifying, by the user device based at least in part on communicating verification information with the infrastructure device, that the user device is authorized to have access to a plaintext version of the private data; transmitting, by the user device to the infrastructure device, the hash of the private data; and receiving, by the user device from the infrastructure device, a notification indicating a result of a comparison of the hash of the private data with the hash of the breached data.

Stateless system to enable data breach notification

A method including calculating, by a user device, a hash of private data, the calculated hash to be utilized by an infrastructure device for comparison with a hash of breached data compromised due to a data breach; verifying, by the user device prior to transmitting the hash of the private data to the infrastructure device, that the user device is authorized to have access to a plaintext version of the private data; transmitting, by the user device based on verifying that the user device is authorized to have access to the plaintext version of the private data, the hash of the private data to the infrastructure device; and receiving, by the user device from the infrastructure device based on transmitting the hash of the private data, a notification indicating a result of a comparison of the hash of the private data with the hash of the breached data is disclosed.

Stateless system to enable data breach

A method including determining, by an infrastructure device, a breach database including breach information indicating breached data that is compromised due to a data breach; calculating, by the infrastructure device, a hash of the breached data that is compromised due to the data breach; receiving, by the infrastructure device from the user device, a hash of private data associated with the user device; comparing, by the infrastructure device, the hash of the private data with the hash of the breached data; and transmitting, by the infrastructure device when the hash of the private data matches the hash of the breached data, a notification to the user device indicating that the private data associated with the user device is compromised due to the data breach is disclosed. Various other aspects are contemplated.

A method including determining, by a first user device, encrypted content by encrypting content based on a first private key; encrypting, by the first user device, the first private key based on utilizing a second public key associated with a second user device; transmitting, by the first user device to a storage device, the encrypted content and the encrypted first private key for storage in association with a first account; receiving, by the second user device from storage device, the encrypted content and the encrypted first private key when the first user device is unable to access the encrypted content; decrypting, by the second user device, the encrypted first private key and the encrypted content based on a second private key; and transmitting, by the second user device to the first user device, the content to restore access to the content by the first user device is disclosed.
