An apparatus for positioning and retaining a Rogowski coil around a conductor includes a first member configured to receive a first section of the Rogowski coil, a second member configured to receive a second section of the Rogowski coil, and a non-conductive securing structure configured to engage the conductor and retain the first member and the second member in fixed positions relative to the conductor. According to one exemplary embodiment, the apparatus may also include a coupling mechanism configured to permit at least one of the first member and the second member to be moved relative to each other and positioned around the conductor. According to another exemplary embodiment, the securing structure may include a pair of arched elements, wherein each arched element is configured to engage the conductor and retain a corresponding one of the first and second members in a respective fixed position relative to the conductor.

Rogowski coil positioning and retaining apparatus

A floating connector includes a housing, a substantially planar surface positioned within the housing, a set of electrical contacts, and a bushing. The set of electrical contacts are arranged substantially normal to the planar surface. The bushing is cooperatively mated with the housing and the planar surface so as to permit the bushing to pivot the planar surface about one or more points. In one exemplary embodiment, the bushing defines a pair of diametrically opposite pin apertures. In such an embodiment, the floating connector may further include a pair of pivot pins, where each pivot pin passes through a respective one of the pin apertures and pivotally interconnects the bushing and the housing. Additionally, the housing may define a pair of diametrically opposite wells to receive the pivot pins. The floating connector may form part of an electronic apparatus that is mountable to a luminaire of a streetlight.

An apparatus for positioning and retaining a current transformer, such as a Rogowski coil, about a conductor includes at least two members, a coupling mechanism, and a non-conductive securing structure. Each member of the apparatus includes a respective retention structure configured to receive a respective section of the Rogowski coil. The coupling mechanism is configured to movably deploy at least one of the apparatus members relative to the other and around the conductor, which may be a distribution transformer power node. The securing structure is configured to engage the conductor and retain the apparatus members in fixed positions relative to the conductor and to each other.

A controller is coupled to a streetlight. A primary male connector integrated with a housing of the controller is arranged for substantially permanent coupling to a primary female connector integrated with the streetlight. The primary female connector complies with a roadway area lighting standard promoted by a standards body. A substantially planar surface integrated with the primary male connector has protruding electrical contacts arranged about a first central axis that is substantially normal to its substantially planar surface. A substantially planar surface of the primary female connector has recessed electrical contacts that are arranged about a second central axis that is substantially normal to its substantially planar surface. A substructure integrated with the primary male connector is arranged to movably isolate at least a portion of the primary male connector from the housing of the controller during coupling of the primary male connector to the primary female connector.

An interconnect assembly (100) interconnects an accessory (102) to a portable radio (104). The interconnect assembly (100) allows the accessory (102) to be connected to the portable radio (104) through an alignment which is perpendicular to that of the radio assembly alignment. The connector (102) includes a header (136) having spring contacts (154) which mate with narrowly pitched stationary contacts (124) located on the bottom surface (116) of the portable radio (104). The header (136) is able to move within the connector (102) such that it can easily align and connect with the stationary contacts (124).

A molded sealing pad for a radio housing assembly is provided which has an outer sealing portion for sealing the outer periphery of the radio housing, and an inner sealing portion for sealing inner apertures of the housing assembly. The outer sealing portion includes push button actuation elements which may be actuated by exerting a horizontal actution force, and the inner sealing portion includes key pad buttons which may be actuated by exerting a vertical actuation force.

A removable deformable portion 16 of a boss (12) initially fastens a first member 14 to a second member 18. Subsequent to removal of the deformable portion 16, a means (15 and 20) for alternatively fastening the first member 14 to the second member 18 fastens the first and second members.

Dual function fastener

An electrical connector is provided for making electrical connection to a mating connector. The connector includes a body portion that has a substantially cylindrical cavity. A contact block is located in the cavity and carries three contacts. A spring engages the contact block for applying biasing force to the contact block and contacts for providing electrical connection of the contacts to the mating connector. A peripheral resilient seal is located above the contact block and provides a seal between the contact block and a cylindrical cavity. The peripheral seal includes a bead portion that engages the mating connector for providing a water seal about the contacts.

An RF interconnect between a printed circuit board and a coaxial connector mounted in a housing is self-aligning along all three major axes. The coaxial connector has a pin connected to its inner conductor that extends beyond the edge of the outer conductor. The outer conductor has an external circumferential groove. The interconnect includes two terminals wherein the first terminal includes a substantially 'M' shaped wire formed conductor having five functional segments: two flexible attaching segments near the ends of the wire, two substantially parallel pin contact segments, and a joining segment connecting the pin contact segments. The coaxial connector pin is inserted between the parallel pin contact segments of the wire formed conductor and a clamping force is generated on the pin by the joining segment. The second terminal includes a flat flexible conductor that has a 'U' shaped lug at one end and a snap ring at the other end which is inserted into the groove of the coaxial connector. The flexible conductor is attached to the printed circuit board by passing a screw through the opening in the lug and threading it into a plated through hole in the printed circuit board.
