Operations of printing systems are disclosed. According to examples, a deposition sequence for depositing printing fluids onto a substrate location is dynamically controlled. Sub-groups of nozzles in nozzle arrays are selected according to the deposition sequence.

Operation of printing systems

Ink, ink sets, and methods of printing are provided. The inks can include a plurality of dyes such that upon printing on a print medium, the printed ink or inks can maintain a neutral color, defined by an a* value from about &#x2212;1 to about 3 and having a b* value from about 3 to about &#x2212;15. This neutral color can be maintained such that the printed ink or image has these a*b* values for substantially all L* values ranging from about 25 to about 75, or even from 0 to 95.

A method is provided of personalizing color reproduction of an output device by determining a user-specific color mapping. A user is enabled to individually select different color reproductions of a plurality of different test images according to the user's preferences, wherein the different color reproductions are associated with different color mappings. The test images are reproduced by the output device or a display device simulating the output device. The user-specific color mapping is determined by combining the color mappings of the selected color reproductions.

Personalized color reproduction

A color image processor is configured to locate at least two zones within a document. Within the zones, content types are recognized, wherein the content types may include: text and lines; graphic images; photographic images; and background. A color rendering intent is applied to each of the at least two zones based on the content type within the zone. The zones are then merged into an image.
