An example implementation includes displaying a group volume control of a synchrony group, the group volume control comprising a group volume indicator on a group volume slider and receiving, via the displayed group volume control, input data representing a selection of the group volume control. The implementation also includes displaying, concurrently with the group volume control, a first volume control comprising a first volume indicator on a first volume slider and a second volume control comprising a second volume indicator on a second volume slider. The implementation also includes receiving, via the displayed group volume control, input data representing an input to modify a first volume setting of the synchrony group to a second volume setting and transmitting instructions to cause the synchrony group to modify volume settings according to the second volume setting of the synchrony group.

Methods and systems are provided for volume interactions for connected playback devices. In an example implementation, a first playback device applies a state variable update associated with a group of playback devices comprising the first playback device and one or more second playback devices. The state variable update indicates a limited volume range associated with the first playback device. The first playback device renders audio content in synchrony with the one or more second playback devices. Rendering the audio content involves a subwoofer speaker of the first playback device rendering a bass frequency component of the audio content. The first playback device receives input data indicating a group volume adjustment for the group of playback devices and adjusting a playback volume of the first playback device based on the group volume adjustment and the limited volume range.

Volume interactions for connected playback devices

Example techniques involve controlling playback volumes of playback zones in a network media system. An example implementation includes displaying a first volume indicator along a first volume scale, the first volume indicator at a first position corresponding to a first volume setting of a first playback zone and a second volume indicator along a second volume scale, the second volume indicator at a second position corresponding to a second volume setting of a second playback zone. The implementation involves receiving input data representing an input to cause the first volume setting to change to be equal to the second volume setting and responsively, displaying the first volume indicator at a third position indicating that the first volume setting is equal to the second volume setting, and transmitting a command to adjust a playback volume of the first playback zone to a volume setting corresponding to the third position.

Volume interactions for connected subwoofer device

Example techniques involve controlling playback volumes of playback zone in a network media system. An example implementation includes displaying a first volume indicator along a first scale at a first position corresponding to a first volume setting of a zone, and a second volume indicator along a second scale at a second position corresponding to a second volume setting of a zone group including the zone. The implementation also includes receiving an input corresponding to the second volume indicator to adjust the first volume setting to be equal to the second volume setting, and in response, displaying the first volume indicator at a third position along the first scale that indicates the first volume setting is equal to the second volume setting, and transmitting a command to adjust a playback volume of the playback zone to a volume setting corresponding to the third position along the first scale.

Group volume control

Embodiments are provided for controlling playback volumes of a group of one or more playback zones in a network media system via a user interface provided on a touch screen display. For instance, touch inputs may be provided to the user interface via the touch screen to move a volume indicator along a graphical representation of a volume scale on the user interface to adjust a particular playback volume level of a playback zone or the group of the one or more playback zones. Further, touch inputs such as a dwell touch input or a swipe touch input may be configured to cause the particular playback volume level to be applied to other playback zones in the network media system, such that each playback zone the playback volume level is applied to has a respective playback volume level matching, or substantially matching the particular playback volume level.
