An insertion device for a single port robotic surgery apparatus can include an insertion section with first and second camera channels and an instrument channel, the first camera channel configured to facilitate insertion and removal of a primary camera, the second camera channel configured to enclose a secondary camera, and the instrument channel configured to permit insertion and removal of a surgical instrument from the insertion section, The insertion device can include a housing attached to the insertion section, the housing including a passage configured to permit at least a portion of the primary camera to pass through the housing into the first camera channel and exit the first camera channel. The secondary camera can be configured to provide image data of a surgical site to facilitate insertion into the surgical site of at least one of the surgical instrument or the primary camera.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for capturing images during a medical procedure

A visualization device for a robotic surgery apparatus includes a housing configured to be removably attached to a mounting interface of the apparatus and be positioned adjacent an insertion device of the apparatus. The housing includes first and second openings positioned on an exterior of the housing. The housing includes a substantially flexible camera tube with a first end attached to the housing and a second end including at least one camera. The second end is inserted through the first opening in the housing, pass through interior of the housing, and exit the housing through the second opening in the housing. The second end extends away from the housing toward a region of interest outside the housing or retract away from the region of interest and back toward the housing. The camera tube forms a loop around a portion of the housing.

Camera positioning system, method, and apparatus for capturing images during a medical procedure

In some embodiments, an insertion device for a single port robotic surgery apparatus includes a plurality of instrument channels positioned in an interior of a housing and extending along substantially an entire length of the housing, the plurality of instrument channels configured to removably house a plurality of surgical instruments, a plurality of openings in a rear exterior surface of the housing, the plurality of openings providing access to the plurality of instrument channels and configured to facilitate insertion of the plurality of surgical instruments into the plurality of instrument channels, and an illumination device supported at least partially at the rear exterior surface of the housing and positioned proximal to the plurality of openings, the illumination device configured to illuminate the openings to facilitate insertion of the plurality of instruments through the plurality of openings.

Instrument insertion system, method, and apparatus for performing medical procedures

In some embodiments, a visualization device for a robotic surgery apparatus can include a housing configured to be removably attached to a mounting interface of the apparatus and be positioned adjacent an insertion device of the apparatus. In some embodiments, an insertion device for a robotic surgery apparatus can include a first portion with a plurality of instrument channels configured to removably house a plurality of surgical instruments and first and second camera channels positioned in an interior of the first portion and extending along substantially the entire length of the first portion. The first camera channel can removably house a primary camera tube, and the second camera channel can include a secondary camera. The device can include a second portion with an insertion channel terminating at a first end with a first opening permitting the primary camera tube to pass through and terminating at a second end opposite the first end with a second opening aligned with the first camera channel of the first portion. The insertion channel can permit the primary camera tube to pass through the insertion channel and enter the first camera channel.

A volar distal radius plate includes a shaft and a head. The head includes a radial side that seats below the volar rim, and an ulnar side with two extending tabs that provide a buttress support to ulnar fragments from the volar rim. The tabs are contoured to be atraumatic to the overlying soft tissue. The tabs can be readily re-orientated to better approximate the volar rim and provide close support to the volar fragments. Each tab includes a single hole specifically sized to closely receive a K-wire in a fixed angle orientation, and which permits the K-wire to apply a bending load to a tab in situ to bend the tab about a lower recess between the tab and the remainder of the head. Therefore, the plate does not require a dedicated bender. The tabs can also accommodate sutures.

A bone plate a re-orientable tab that provides a buttress support to fragments of the surrounding concave joint rim. The tabs can be re-orientated to contact the rim to provide close support. Each tab includes a hole sized to closely receive a K-wire to permit the K-wire to apply a bending load to a tab in situ to bend the tab about a lower recess between the tab and the remainder of the head. A soft tissue anchor is sized to pass through the hole in the tab, and into a hole drilled into the underlying bone. The soft tissue anchor has a bone engaging first portion and second portion comprising a length of flexible suture, to which is affixed a needle. The needle and suture can be used to draw tissue about the joint capsule.

A bone plate system for the internal fixation of metacarpal and phalanx fractures of the hand is provided. The plates are structured to permit independent reconfiguration of holes of the plates relative to a longitudinal axis and are configured to orient fasteners to interdigitate with holes displaced along the longitudinal axis. The plates are very thin, and a locking screw with a low profile head design is provided for use therewith.

A low profile bone screw system includes a retainable washer and a low profile bone screw having a smooth conical head for insertion into the washer. The washer has an axial bore with a conical portion for fully seating the screw head and a smooth outer surface shaped like the head of a conventional compression bone screw head.
