The present invention describes a base module () and a tray insert () of a multipurpose tray () for an automated processing system, such as an analytical, pre-analytical or post-analytical processing system, as well as to a multipurpose tray comprising such base module and such tray insert, wherein the tray insert can be particularly used for holding a plurality of reagent or sample tubes to be processed in the automated processing system. The present invention further relates to a method of simplified loading/unloading of such a multipurpose tray into/from the automated processing system.

On the rotor device () at least two sensor units (--) scanning the measurement track (---) are provided, which are arranged along the movement direction (FR) of the rotor device () in a distance (SA) such that if the rotor device () is arranged on a connection point (, L) between two stator modules (--) the respective measurement tracks (---) of the adjacent stator modules (--) are scannable by one of the two sensor units (--), respectively.

A linear movement device comprising at least two linear movement units which are guided in a movable manner along a shared linear movement axis, wherein the linear movement device comprises a first linear drive and a second linear drive, in such a way that each linear movement unit can be driven in movement along the linear movement axis merely by the first linear drive, merely by the second linear drive, and also by both linear drives together.
