An exhaust-gas turbocharger is embodied with a bypass valve which is disposed in a bypass duct of a turbine between an exhaust-gas pressure line and an outlet cross section of the turbine of the exhaust-gas turbocharger and which is connected to an actuating device for controlling the throughput of exhaust-gas through the bypass duct. Through the bypass valve, a partial flow of the exhaust-gas can be guided past the turbine on demand. The bypass valve has a valve head and a valve stem. The bypass valve is axially movably held with the valve stem. The valve head, in a closed state of the bypass valve, can be placed against a valve seat in order to close the bypass duct in a gas-tight and pressure-tight manner. The side of the valve head that is connected to the valve stem faces the exhaust-gas pressure line.

An air intake system for an internal combustion engine. The intake system has a cylinder head delimiting at least one cylinder, an intake manifold which has at least one air passage per cylinder, and at least one intake passage in the cylinder head per cylinder, with an intake port leading into the associated cylinder. The intake manifold has a cylinder head flange connected to the cylinder head so that each air passage of the intake manifold is in fluid-conductive connection with an associated intake passage in the cylinder head. A flap valve is operatively arranged in the air passage so as to constrict a cross section of the air passage of the intake manifold. A partition wall is arranged in the intake passage so as to divide the intake passage over a predetermined distance between the cylinder head flange and the intake port. The flap valve is movable between an open position and a closed position and is configured so as to project over the cylinder head flange so that the flap value strikes the partition wall when it is in the closed position in which the flap valve constricts the cross section of the air passage.

An internal combustion engine, in particular for a motor vehicle, includes a cylinder head and fuel injection valves. The cylinder head has seats for the fuel injection valves. Alignment devices on the seats and on the fuel injection valves interact with one another such that, when a fuel injection valve is accommodated in a seat, the fuel injection valve is aligned in the seat with respect to a rotation about a longitudinal axis of the fuel injection valve.

The invention relates to a four stroke internal combustion engine with applied ignition, wherein fuel is directly injected into a combustion chamber by means of an injector. Said engine comprises at least one admission channel with an admission valve and at least one exhaust channel with an exhaust valve, the admission valve and the exhaust valve being placed on opposite sides of the combustion chamber and the injector being placed on the admission valve side. Said engine also comprises a cavity formed in a piston top. A piston exhibits a central longitudinal axis extending in the direction of displacement of said piston. The cavity is placed on the admission valve side and exhibits, relatively to said admission valve and the injector, a marginal area forming the highest point of the piston top so that an airflow originating in the appropriately designed admission channel and penetrating into the combustion chamber through the admission valve and an injection jet originating in the injector and penetrating into the combustion chamber enter the cavity at opposite points.
