The invention relates to a diffuser for the exhaust section of a gas turbine, comprising at least one cone extending along a machine axis and bordering a channel for an exhaust flow, whereby said at least one cone has a wall with an internal structure comprising a plurality of longitudinal liner segments extending in an axial direction and establishing a conical liner being in contact with the exhaust flow, a support structure coaxially arranged with respect to said conical liner in a predetermined distance, and an insulation filling the space between said conical liner and said support structure. A smooth inner surface and a safe compensation of different thermal expansions are achieved by having each of said liner segments fixed in a lateral direction at one fixing point, and having each liner segment supported at a plurality of distributed points outside said fixing point by means of supporting elements, which are confined to the space between said conical liner and said support structure and allow for a lateral thermal expansion of the liner segments.

A wall structure is provided with noise damping insulation properties, for an air intake manifold of a gas turbine. The wall structure includes a first structure for mechanically supporting an outer sheet, which separates the spaces on both sides of the wall in an airtight manner, and further includes a second structure for establishing noise damping insulation between the spaces on both sides of the wall. The second structure is secured to the first structure. A gas turbine including the wall structure is also provided.

An exhaust gas housing for a gas turbine is provided and includes a support structure, which, arranged concentrically, includes an outer ring and an inner ring which are interconnected by radially arranged struts, and a flow liner, which is attached inside the support structure and, arranged concentrically, includes an outer liner and an inner liner which are interconnected by radially arranged liner ribs. The liner ribs each encompass the struts of the support structure, and the outer and inner liners inside the support structure form an annular passage for the turbine's hot exhaust gases. The liner ribs are welded together from front and rear parts in the flow direction, forming welded seams which extend axially in the outer liner and in the inner liner up to the liner edge. End rings, which cover the welded seams at the liner edge, are welded on the liner's rear edges for reinforcement.

Exhaust gas housing for a gas turbine and method for producing same

The disclosure refers to a method and apparatus for checking the bearing alignment of a rotor of a gas turbine or steam turbine having a rotor with a radial offset and a radial offset surface and in a bearing shell, which supports the rotor, with a radial, at least in sections, end surface, wherein the radial offset surface and the radial end surface face the free end of the rotor. The radial offset is arranged in the bearing shell and offset towards the free end of the rotor. The degree of offset in the axial direction with regard to the rotor is measured at least two different circumferential positions around the rotor periphery in order to determine the alignment of the rotor. Differences in the degree of offset at different circumferential positions are used as measurement for the bearing alignment.

In a method and an apparatus for shaft sealing and for cooling on the exhaust-gas side of a thermal turbomachine, in particular an axial-flow gas turbine, in which the outlet-side bearing arrangement of the turbine rotor is made inside the exhaust-gas casing construction, and labyrinth seals and a gland are used for the sealing, barrier air having a higher pressure than the pressure of the exhaust gas in the exhaust-gas duct being directed for the shaft sealing into the gland and then into the exhaust-gas duct, and the rotor cooling air being extracted from a compressor stage and being fed via a pipeline through the exhaust-gas-side shaft end into the rotor, a portion of the rotor cooling-air leakage is diverted after some of the labyrinth seals and is used as barrier air. In addition, ambient air is introduced as cooling air into the bearing space, is uniformly distributed at the periphery via the gland separately from the barrier air, is partly used through cooling ducts for specifically cooling the supporting structure and is transported to the outside through passages in the exhaust-gas diffuser.

A compressor for a gas turbine includes a gas seal chamber to seal the space between the guide vanes and the rotor vanes from ambient air. A seal casing is positioned at a radially inner side of the inlet casing adjacent to an inlet duct and the rotor blades with an annular gap between the seal casing and the rotor shaft. The annular gap communicates for air flow with the inlet duct. A plurality of ribs are mounted on the one or both of the seal casing and rotor shaft to extend into the annular gap to provide flow resistance. The seal casing defines therewithin a sealing air chamber is connected to the inlet space and the annular gap to permit air from the inlet space to flow to the annular gap and to the inlet duct.

In the combustion chamber of a gas turbine, an air distribution chamber (19) and a combustion space (7) are locationally separated from one another within the combustion chamber shell (1). A multiplicity of tubular elements (2) are located between the distibution chamber and the combustion space, in which elements a premixing and pre-evaporation of the fuel oil supplied via the premixing nozzles (15') and/or a premixing of the fuel gas supplied through the premixing nozzles (15') takes place with compressor air. Each tubular element (2) is provided with a flameholder (3) in the direction towards the combustion space (7). A diffusion nozzle (8) for fuel directed into the combustion space (7) is located within the flameholder. In operation on load, only a small part of the fuel supplied to each element (2) is burned by means of the diffusion nozzle (8), the major proportion, on the other hand, being burnt by means of the premixing nozzles (15' of 15').

Combustion chamber of a gas turbine and method of operating it

A combustion chamber for a gas turbine which is equipped with a number of tubular-shaped elements, within which there occurs between the fuel and the compressed air a pre-mixing/pre-evaporation process. Each tubular element is closed at its end at the side of its combustion space by a flame baffle provided with one or a number of openings, so that the combustion first can occur downstream of the flame baffle, whereby there is appreciably reduced the emissivity of noxious substances from the combustion process.
