Propylene production processes are discussed herein. The propylene production processes may include contacting an olefin feed including butene with ethylene in the presence of a catalyst system including a metathesis catalyst under reaction conditions sufficient to form a product stream including propylene, wherein the metathesis catalyst includes molybdenum and the reaction conditions include a reaction temperature of less than 250&#xb0; C.

Titanium silicallite crystals useful as catalyst for the production of propylene oxide are prepared by forming a solution of a silicon component, a titanium component and a template, the mol ratio of template to silicon component being 0.25 or less and heating the solution to reaction temperature at a rate not to exceed 0.3&#xb0; C./min.

Catalyst preparation

A catalyst comprising a spray-dried transition metal zeolite and a noble metal is disclosed. The spray-dried transition metal zeolite comprises a transition metal zeolite and a binder. At least 50 wt. % of the binder is titania. The catalyst is used in a process to produce an epoxide by reacting an olefin, hydrogen, and oxygen. The catalyst is easy to filter from a slurry and produces a reduced level of hydrogenation products.

Spray-dried transition metal zeolite and its use

A process is provided for the production of a noble metal on TS-1 catalyst useful for the production of propylene oxide wherein TS-1 from hydrothermal crystallization has noble metal dispersed thereon, the resulting material is spray dried and template used in the crystallization is removed, the resulting product is treated with hydrogen to form active catalyst for propylene oxide production.

Propylene oxide catalyst and use

A TS-1 catalyst suitable for the production of oxirane compounds is prepared by subjecting conventionally formed TS-1 to a size reduction treatment such as milling such that the average particle size weighted by volume of the TS-1 is reduced to less than 10 microns in diameter and the size reduced TS-1 is spray dried.

Method for making a heterogeneous epoxidation catalyst

Highly active and selective epoxidation catalysts are prepared by combining high surface area silica support or the like, having surface area greater than 1100 m.sup.2 /g, with a titanium source. The titanium source is a non-oxygenated hydrocarbon solution of a titanium halide or a vapor stream of titanium tetrachloride. The impregnated support it then calcined at an elevated temperature (preferably, in a substantially oxygen-free atmosphere), and, optionally, reacted with water and/or silylated. The resulting materials are highly active heterogeneous epoxidation catalysts for the reaction of olefins to with organic hydroperoxides.

Heterogeneous epoxidation catalyst

Highly active and selective epoxidation catalysts are prepared by combining silica or the like with a non-oxygenated hydrocarbon solution of titanium halide, removing solvent, calcining at an elevated temperature (preferably, in a substantially oxygen-free atmosphere), and, optionally, reacting with water and silylating. The resulting materials are useful heterogeneous catalysts for transforming olefins to epoxides using organic hydroperoxides.

Epoxidation process using improved heterogeneous catalyst composition

A titanium/silica epoxidation catalyst is prepared from silica which has been treated with strong aqueous acid solution, the catalyst is especially useful for propylene oxide production.

Epoxidation catalyst and process

The catalytic activity of a titanium-containing heterogeneous catalyst such as titania-on-silica which has been used to catalyze olefin epoxidation is effectively restored by washing the catalyst with water, alcohol, ether, nitrile, ester, aromatic hydrocarbon, or ketone.

Heterogeneous catalyst regeneration

The activity of titanium-containing heterogeneous catalysts such as titania-on-silica which have been used to catalyze olefin epoxidation is effectively restored by heating in the presence of oxygen at a temperature of 700.degree. C. or greater. Epoxide selectivity is enhanced by treatment of the heated catalyst with a silylating agent, even where the used catalyst had been silylated when initially prepared.

A heterogeneous catalyst suitable for use in an olefin epoxidation reaction is obtained using a titanosiloxane polymer as a source of titanium. The titanosiloxane is combined with an inorganic siliceous solid such as silica or a siliceous sol gel to form a catalyst precursor composition. Calcination yields the active titanium-containing catalyst.

Preparation of titanium-containing catalysts using titanosiloxane

The present invention relates to the improved dehydrogenation of paraffins using as catalyst zeolite modified with a Group I A modifier and containing a transition metal component.
