A commodities package is provided for containing commodities, such as staples. The package includes a base container and a cover, the base container and cover having interengaging structure in order to hold them together. The base container and cover are wrapped with shrink wrap to provide a sealed package. An outer package contains a plurality of commodity packages and facilitates loading of the commodity packages onto a display structure. The outer package is manually alterable so that it supports each of the plurality of commodity packages while the display structure is received by hanger members provided on the commodity packages. Once the commodity packages are loaded onto the display structure, the outer package is pulled away.

A theft-deterrent tape measure package, comprising a tape measure device including a coilable tape rule contained in a housing, and a belt clip secured to the housing; a surveillance tag carrier structure secured to the belt clip and defining a compartment; and an electronic article surveillance tag secured within the compartment. The surveillance tag carrier structure is of high strength plastic material inhibiting separation thereof from the belt clip and inhibiting manual access to the electronic article surveillance tag. The surveillance tag carrier structure requires cutting or otherwise destroying of the plastic material with an implement to enable separation thereof from the belt clip or manual access to the electronic surveillance tag.

Theft-deterrent tape rule package

A display assembly comprises a vertically disposed elongated planar strip of synthetic resin having a multiplicity of incisions spaced therealong which have spaced vertically extending legs and a transverse head portion extending between the upper ends thereof. The incisions provide upwardly extending tabs hinged to the body of the strip at their base between the lower ends of the legs. At least some of the tabs are deflected about their base outwardly of the plane of the body of the strip to form upwardly extending hooks, and articles of merchandise are supported on these hooks. The tabs have horizontally extending ears on their upper ends to securely seat in hanger apertures of blister cards and the like whereby one ear on one side of the tab is greater in length than an opposite ear on the other side of the tab. The strip has an aperture adjacent its upper end to receive a hanger prong to suspend the assembly.

A display package containing a combination square or the like having an elongated blade seated in a body member extending at a right angle thereto includes a sleeve comprising a paperboard member substantially symmetrical about a center line and folded along the center line to provide a pair of similarly configured panels. Each panel has a web portion extending along the fold line and a pair of leg portions extending from and spaced apart along the web portion to provide a channel therebetween. The leg portions in one of the panels have slits therein extending inwardly from a side edge thereof substantially parallel to the fold line so that a portion of the leg portions below the slits engages the bottom edge of the blade of the square seated in the sleeve. The opposed pairs of leg portions are secured together below the slits, and this retains a combination square of the like with the elongated blade seated in the elongated web portion and its body portion seated in the channel between the leg portions.

A carpenter square display package utilizes an integrally formed display sleeve which is secured about the square at the corner by the intersecting legs. The sleeve has a pair of fold lines providing three elongated panels with the center panel being disposed on one planar face of a leg of the square and the outer panels being disposed in overlying relationship on its other planar face. One of the panels has an elongate flap folded about both of the faces of the corner and its end is engaged with another of the panels. The overlying panels are secured in their overlying relationship.

A level display assembly includes a level with an elongated body having a hand hole along the length thereof and at least one level indicator mounted thereon. Extending about the body of the level is an elongated tubular sleeve which has a hinged flap formed along its length. The flap has its free end extending into and engaged with the level about the hand hole to limit relative sliding motion therebetween. The sleeve may also have apertures therein aligned with the level indicators disposed thereunder to permit viewing of the indicators therethrough. The sleeve is formed from a unitary blank with a series of fold lines which allow it to be formed into a rectangular cross section, and the flap is hinged along one of the fold lines. The material from which the sleeve is formed provides sufficient resilient deflectability to permit the flap to be pulled through the hand hole to abut the opposite surface thereof.

A package for a set of twist drill bits or like tools consists of a one-piece, integrally thermoformed case, having a pedestal portion on its base component in which a series of tool-receiving recesses is defined. The closure component of the case has a cavity in which the pedestal portion is seated in the closed position, and in which may also be received a card insert for advertising and identification of the contained parts. The insert has at least one opening through which portions of the parts are visible, the material of fabrication of the case being transparent. Means is generally provided to increase the security of interengagement between the base and closure components.
