The present disclosure relates to methods and systems of determining swimming metrics of a user during a swimming session. The method can include receiving, by a processor circuit of a user device, motion information from one or more motion sensors of the user device; determining, by the processor circuit using the motion information, a first set of rotational data of the user device, wherein the first set of rotational data is expressed in a first frame of reference; converting, by the processor circuit, the first set of rotational data into a second set of rotational data, wherein the second set of rotational data is expressed in a second frame of reference; determining, by the processor circuit, one or more swimming metrics of the user; and outputting the one or more swimming metrics.

Systems and methods for determining swimming metrics

One or more electronic device may use motion and/or activity sensors to estimate a user's 6 minute walking distance. In particular, because users typically walk at less than their maximum output and in imperfect conditions, control circuitry within the device(s) may rely on walks of shorter distances to estimate the 6 minute walking distance. For example, the control circuitry may gather activity information for the user, such as heart rate, calories burned, and step count, and analyze a distance component and a speed component for periods in which the user has walked. Individual 6 minute walk distance estimates may be generated based on each of the activity information, distance component, and speed component. The distance and speed estimates may be corrected for walking behaviors that deviate from an ideal testing environment, and may then be fused with the activity estimate to generate a final 6 minute walk distance estimate.

A system and method for collecting motion data using a fitness tracking device located on an arm of a user, detecting that the arm is constrained based on the motion data, estimating a stride length of the user based on the motion data and historical step cadence-to-stride length data, calculating fitness data using the estimated stride length, and outputting the fitness data to the user.

A method and a system for determining an energy expenditure of a user by detecting unmeasurable loads using heart rate and work rate are described. Time-stamped heart rate data and work rate data can be collected by one or more sensing modules. A processor circuit can calculate a heart rate-based energy expenditure and a work rate-based energy expenditure. The processor circuit can output a hybrid energy expenditure based on a heart rate confidence parameter, an exercise type, a fraction of heart rate reserve, and a hear rate-based metabolic equivalents of task.

A fitness tracking device configured to be worn by a user obtains a plurality of physical characteristics of the user including a first age and a sex of the user. The fitness tracking device maps each physical characteristic of the user to a corresponding index, wherein the first age of the user is mapped to a first age index of a first age range of a plurality of age ranges, and wherein the sex of the user is mapped to a first sex index. The fitness tracking device selects, from a memory of the fitness tracking device, a first calorimetry model of a plurality of calorimetry models, wherein the first calorimetry model is associated with each corresponding index, including the first age index and the first sex index of the user. The fitness tracking device estimates an energy expenditure rate using the first calorimetry model.

A method and system for characterizing an accessibility of potential left ventricular stimulus sites in connection with surgical planning for transvenous implant of a cardiac medical lead in or near a heart of a patient are provided. The method and system include obtaining image data representative of a coronary venous system for the heart of the patient to receive the lead. The method and system generate a venous map, based on the image data, representative of venous pathways for the heart of the patient. The method and system analyze the venous map to identify pathway features of interest (PFOI) within at least one select region of the venous pathways. The method and system assign scores to the PFOI based on at least one of predetermined feature-complexity relations or physician-entered complexity updates. The method and system display treatment planning information to a user based on the scores.

Method and system for characterizing stimulus sites and providing implant guidance

Methods and systems are provided to deliver a neural stimulation therapy to treat apnea episodes. The methods and systems detect a respiratory pattern of a patient and identify a type associated with the respiratory pattern. A sleep stage is detected that the patient is experiencing and the method and system identify when the sleep stage warrants therapy. When the respiratory pattern corresponds to an apnea episode (AE) and the sleep stage warrants therapy, the methods and systems deliver an apnea episode terminating neuro-stimulation (AET-NS) therapy configured to terminate the AE. A type of AE therapy that is delivered may be based on the sleep stage that was detected. The methods and systems may determine whether the AET-NS therapy successfully terminated the AE, and, if not, adjust the AET-NS therapy and deliver a new AET-NS therapy.

Neurostimulation method and system to treat apnea

Patient tissues are imaged using, e.g., a real-time fluoroscopic imaging system, along with a lead system being implanted. Parameters representative of lead placement efficacy&#x2014;such as capture thresholds, phrenic nerve stimulation thresholds, impedance values or screw-in tip mechanical resistance values&#x2014;are measured at candidate implant locations. Localization parameters identifying the candidate implant locations are also measured. In one example, a display is generated substantially in real-time showing: images of the tissues of the patient and the lead system being implanted; candidate locations of the electrodes; and parameters representative of lead placement efficacy at the candidate locations. In this manner, the implanting clinician can readily view capture thresholds and other helpful parameters at various candidate locations along with actual real-time images of the tissues of the patient and the lead system being implanted. Recorded images can also be displayed and, in some examples, multiple images can be superimposed over one another.

System and method for integrating candidate implant location test results with real-time tissue images for use with implantable device leads

A foot pad device includes a foot pad, force sensors that provide force data, sensor electronics coupled to the force sensors, and a processor. The foot pad includes a ball region configured to be located under a ball of the foot of the user or a heel region configured to be located under a heel of the foot of the user. At least a portion of the force sensors is located in the ball region or the heel region of the foot pad. The sensor electronics include a flexible circuit with force sensor connection paths adapted to transmit force data from the force sensors and are configured to condition the force data to be within a conditioned force data range. The processor is configured to calculate a weight value based on the conditioned force data, a gain value, and an offset value.

A foot pad device and a method of obtaining weight data from a force sensor in a foot pad worn by a user engaging in a footstep, including placing the force sensor under the ball of the foot of the user and/or the heel of the foot of the user; receiving an entered patient weight value for the user; collecting force data from the force sensor; calculating a weight value based on the collected force data and a scaling and/or offset parameter; comparing the calculated weight value to the entered patient weight value; comparing the calculated weight value to zero; adjusting the scaling and/or offset parameter; and repeating the steps periodically. The method may include comparing the collected force data to a functionality indication range, flagging the force sensor if the collected force data is outside the functionality indication range, and disregarding force data from the flagged force sensor.
