A hold-down plate () for securing a first component () to a second component () having a seal () disposed between the first component () and the second component (), includes a support member () having a central opening (). The support member () has an outer face (), and an inner face (), that are substantially flat. The central opening () is surrounded by an inner periphery () of the support member (), and an outer periphery (). A plurality of guide elements () is disposed into each of a plurality of openings () formed in the support member (), each of the plurality of guide elements () having an outer wall () surrounding a central cavity (). The support member () has at least two distal end points (), each distal end point () disposed between two consecutive openings (), and at least two non-flat portions () formed in the support member (), each non-flat portion () disposed between two consecutive openings ().

Hold down plate for securing a component

A gasket () includes a metal substrate () that has a first opening () and a second opening () formed therein. A first sealing bead () substantially surrounds the first opening (). A second sealing bead () substantially surrounds the second opening (). A leak conduit () is formed in the metal substrate () in an area () between the first sealing bead () and the second sealing bead (), such that a leak-flow () of a first fluid from the second opening () past the second sealing bead () is routed away from the first sealing bead ().

An adaptor () for insertion into a housing () has a gap () at least one tab () having a stop (). The housing () has an adaptor seat (), a tang () having a stop (), and at least one slot () designed to receive the at least one tab (). Once the tab () is inserted into the slot (), the adaptor () is rotated in the housing () such that the adaptor seat () rotates in the gap (). When the stop () of the tang () meets the stop () of the tab (), the adaptor () is prevented from further rotation, thus providing a unique orientation between the adaptor () and the housing ().

Method and apparatus for inserting an adaptor in a housing

A seal () has a first surface capable of contacting a valve cover () over a first fluid while a second surface, opposed to the first surface, is capable of contacting a seal seat (). The seal () also has a third surface capable of contacting a sensor () disposed in a second fluid, while a fourth surface, opposed to the third surface, is capable of contacting the seal seat (). The seal () is capable of separating the first fluid from the second fluid while preventing the first fluid and the second fluid from leaking out of the valve cover ().

Sealing system for multiple fluids

There is provided a glow plug connection apparatus for installing a plurality of glow plug connectors to corresponding glow plugs mounted in a cylinder head in an internal combustion engine while simultaneously preventing engine oil leakage. The apparatus comprises a rigid buss bar rail, a plurality of glow plug connectors attached to the buss bar rail, a plurality of connector wires routed in the buss bar rail and connected to the glow plug connectors, a wire router, a conduit retaining clip, and an apparatus connector angle. Additionally, the glow plug connectors preferably comprises a buss bar rail interface section, a glow plug connector angle, a sealing section having an O-ring seal, a guide section having guide fins around the periphery of the glow plug connector, and a clip section having a clip fingers around the periphery of the glow plug connector able to engage a glow plug terminal.

Glow plug connection apparatus

The present invention provides a compact injector hold down clamp assembly that allows for disassembly of the fuel injector from a cylinder head without prying the fuel injector from the cylinder head. The injector hold down clamp assembly comprises a clamp having a fastener channel and a retainer ring bore, a fastener with a retainer ring section that is operatively inserted in the fastener channel, and a retaining ring that is operatively attached to the fastener retainer ring section. The retaining ring acts on the retainer ring bore during disassembly and thereby allows the fuel injector and injector hold down clamp assembly to be removed simultaneously. The retaining ring is a partial ring that extends about 230 degrees. The injector clamp further comprises a rear clamp seat, and a first and second a clamp arm that engage the fuel injector.

Injector hold down clamp

A fluid delivery system for delivering a supply of a fluid from a fluid source to at least one fuel injector includes a rail for conveying a fluid and being positionable proximate the fuel injector. The rail has a fluid passageway defined therein, the fluid passageway being in fluid communication with the source of fluid. A connector is in fluid communication with both the rail and with the fuel injector for fluidly connecting the rail to the fuel injector. The connector is universally shiftable in three orthogonal axes for accommodating static tolerances existing between the rail and the fuel injector and for accommodating dynamic relative motion between the rail and the fuel injector.

Actuating fluid delivery system for a fuel injector

The present invention describes a filter screen for removing debris from the hydraulic actuating fluid in an internal combustion engine having a hydraulic pump for supplying hydraulic actuating fluid to hydraulically-actuated unit fuel injectors. An upper portion of a priming reservoir is mounted on a front cover of the engine. The front cover forms a lower reservoir portion. A screen assembly is positioned adjacent to an interface defining an entrance from the upper reservoir portion to the lower reservoir portion. The screen assembly includes a filter screen enclosing the entrance to force the actuating fluid to pass through the filter screen, thus retaining debris that exceed the mesh size of the filter screen.

The present invention describes a filter gasket (50) for removing debris from the hydraulic fluid in an internal combustion engine (10). An upper reservoir structure (30) is mounted on a front cover (14) of the engine (10) at interface (46). The front cover forms a lower reservoir (16). The upper reservoir structure (30) forms an upper reservoir (35). A gasket (42) is disposed along the interface (46) to seal the upper reservoir structure (30) to the front cover (14). A screen assembly (70) is positioned adjacent to the interface (46). The screen assembly (70) includes a filter screen (76) connected to a plate member (56). The plate member (56) operatively engages the gasket (42). The plate member (56) forces hydraulic fluid to pass through the filter screen (76), thus retaining debris that exceed the mesh size of the filter screen (76).
