A piston pump for brake systems employs a pulsation-smoothing device that functions especially well in the region of the outlet valve. As a result, substantially less noise occurs, and the durability of the piston pump is substantially better. The piston pump is used essentially in traction-controlled motor vehicle brake systems.

A reciprocating piston pump having a housing, pistons disposed opposite one another in the housing, an eccentric between the pistons, annular grooves that fit around the piston necks machined into piston ends oriented toward the eccentric, and a U-shaped hoop spring curved radially outside the eccentric in the circumferential direction thereof. The hoop spring includes forklike hoop spring ends which engage the annular grooves and press the piston ends toward the eccentric. In the circumferential direction of the substantially U-shaped hoop spring, a continuation is formed on the hoop spring and together with a stop disk aligned transversely to the eccentric shaft, forms a device that limits the pivotability of the hoop spring about the piston necks. The reciprocating piston pump is usable for instance in hydraulic motor vehicle brake systems and in other hydraulic equipment.

The invention relates to a check valve, for use as an insert check valve, with a valve seat and a valve element that is resiliently prestressed against the valve seat by a valve spring. According to the invention, a retaining element embodied as a retaining bracket is provided, which supports the end of the valve spring remote from the valve element and the retaining element can be locked resiliently to a recess, particularly an annular groove, of the valve housing. This enables fast, simple assembly of the check valve from its individual parts.

A brake booster for a pressure-fluid-actuated, and in particular hydraulic, brake system equipped with both ABS and traction control has a servo piston that is controllable by a brake pedal, and an additional piston that is controllable via a magnetic valve assembly in traction control operation; to control a brake pressure in the brake system, both pistons act via a pressure rod upon the brake piston of a master brake cylinder. For the sake of a short structural length of the brake booster, the additional piston is embodied as an annular piston, which coaxially surrounds the pressure rod and is sealed off from it, and which rests on a radially protruding driver element of the pressure rod in order to displace it.

A brake system with traction control, having a master brake cylinder for at least one brake circuit and having a brake booster is proposed. By operation of a pump, servo pressure is fed into the brake booster via a pressure connection provided on the brake booster, and the servo pressure reaches a pressure reservoir through a bore provided on the brake booster. From there, given a corresponding open passage position of magnetic valves, the servo pressure, via a supply line, reaches the pressure cylinder present in the brake booster, and in the pressure cylinder there is a valve slide that, via a servo piston, actuates a pressure rod leading to the master brake cylinder.

Brake system

A brake booster in which a servo piston is slidably supported in a housing. The transmission of a brake force is effected via a piston rod protruding into the housing, and a work chamber is formed between the piston rod and the servo piston. After the opening of a valve, this work chamber can be filled with brake fluid from a reservoir or supply container via a pump or the like. A return line also leads out of the work chamber back to the supply container, via a further valve. To improve the closing or sealing behavior of the valves, the first valve is to be embodied for admitting the brake fluid from a valve cone, or its shoulder, the valve cone extending axially in a blind bore of the servo piston, and a valve seat formed out of a valve bushing. The second valve is likewise embodied as a seat valve, and an element connected with the valve cone cooperates with an element connected with the piston rod.

A brake booster having a brake valve disposed inside a booster piston, the brake valve comprises a valve bushing including a valve seat and a slide that is pressed by a spring against the valve seat of the valve bushing. The slide is supported with play at a great distance from the valve seat, so that it can be pivoted slightly around the vicinity of its bearing. The pivotability of the slide facilitates its centering in the valve seat, so that the valve closes dependably even in the presence of bearing tolerances or valve seat tolerances. Seals required for sealing off the slide have an elastic behavior, and are disposed in the vicinity of the bearing. As a result, reliable sealing is assured despite the pivotability of the slide.

Brake booster for vehicles

A brake valve for brake boosters in which a slide is guided in a sheath that is supported in rounded fashion at one end face, such that the slide, along with the sheath, is pivotable and can center itself, with a bezel formed onto its end face, in the valve seat of a valve bushing. The slide and valve bushing form a valve in which the closing behavior is improved considerably by the automatic centering of the slide in the valve seat.

A brake booster in a housing, having a servo piston slidably supported in the housing and having a piston rod protruding into the housing for transmitting a brake force. A chamber is provided in the servo piston for receiving brake fluid drawn after the opening of a valve from a reservoir or supply container and pumped via a pump or the like. The chamber also communicates via a further valve or the like with a return line to the supply container. To improve the closing behavior of the valve, the first valve for the admission of the brake fluid is formed in the chamber, embodied as a servo chamber, by a valve bushing, or its annular collar, and a valve seat in a blind bore recess in the servo piston. On the other side, the valve bushing, with a bottom, engages the inside of a bell-shaped valve seat, which together with the piston rod, or a slide connected to the piston rod, forms the valve for returning the brake fluid.

In a brake fluid container for hydraulic motor vehicle brake systems having a housing with a fill connector a container cap closing off the fill connector, a filling filter suspended in the fill connector and protruding into the housing interior, and a level switch secured to the container cap for indicating a minimum allowable fill level in the housing in order to attain extensive damping of a float of the level switch with respect to fluid fluctuations caused by vehicle behavior, the filling filter is embodied as a closed float chamber, extending to below the minimum allowable fill level in the housing with guides for the float. On its lower end, the filling filter is provided with a throttle bore located near the minimum allowable fill level and in a region near the maximum fill level, it is provided with filter windows for the sake of rapid filling of the housing with fluid.

Brake fluid container

A fuel injection pump for Diesel engines in which a rotating and reciprocating piston pressurizes and distributes fuel to individual pressure lines leading to the injection valves of the engine. In order to change the timing of injection with respect to the engine cycle, there is provided a mechanism to change the relative angle between the pressurizing piston and its drive means, which runs in synchronism with the engine. The mechanism operates hydraulically and is affected by the fuel pressure in the sump of the injection pump. There is also provided a hydraulic control valve mechanism which permits varying amounts of fuel to flow back from the sump to the low pressure side of the fuel delivery pump, thereby changing the injection timing. A primary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine speed while a secondary control valve adjusts the sump pressure on the basis of engine temperature in order to adapt the timing of fuel injection to engine starting and engine warm-up. Various embodiments are presented.
