Example implementations relate to backup power supply support. For example, a backup power supply support system can include a shared backup power supply controlled by a backup power control module and a support switch coupled to the shared backup power supply. The support switch enables a transition from a primary power supply to the shared backup power supply and the support switch includes system firmware. The system firmware detects a primary power supply compromise, isolates a hardware switch from the shared backup power supply, enables the hardware switch, and transitions to the shared backup power supply.

Backup power supply support

A backup power and load discovery system can include a shared backup power supply controlled by a backup power control module, and a node coupled to the shared backup power supply, wherein the node supports a plurality of loads and includes system firmware to determine a subset of the plurality of loads that are to be protected by the shared backup power supply; and the system firmware to communicate the subset between the node and the shared backup power control module.

A first slot connector is mounted within a housing of an electronic system and is for connecting to a first plug-in card. A mezzanine board is installed within the housing. A second slot connector is mounted on the mezzanine board for connecting to a second plug-in card. The first and second plug-in cards align with similarly-shaped slot access panels in the electronic system.

A fault tolerant network server is described. This server has a pair of processing units, each processing unit has at least one CPU, system memory, an interface for a RAID system, at least one disk drive, a network interface, a cluster network interface, a power supply, and a case. The cases of both processing units are slideably mounted in a rack-mountable server case. The server also has a RAID system mounted in the server case and powered by two, redundant, power supplies and coupled to the processing units through isolators for blocking transactions when a processing unit has insufficient power or is being serviced.
