An expansible occupant restraint cushion is provided. The restraint cushion includes a first section of material having a plurality of perimeter edges and 'Z' profile lap structures disposed along selected perimeter edges. Each 'Z' profile lap structure includes a first fold formed along a fold line in opposed relation to a perimeter edge and a second fold reverse in direction to the first fold formed along a fold line intermediate the fold line of the first fold and the opposing perimeter edge to yield an outboard attachment margin. The restraint cushion further includes a second section of material in opposed mating relation to the folded first section of material. This second section of material is adjoined to the first folded section of material at the outboard attachment margins of the 'Z' profile lap structures. A related method for forming the cushion of the present invention is also provided.

Inflatable occupant restraint cushion

An electrically conductive textile fabric is provided having a conductivity gradient created by varying the relative concentration of high and low conductivity yarns during construction of the fabric. In the case of woven and knitted fabrics, the relative number of high and low conductivity yarns per inch may be varied in the warp or weft direction or both.

A wallcovering material having a paper backing being color and/or design printed face to which substantially parallel warp and fill yarns are tricot stitched thereto to provide an aesthetic structure through which the color and/or design shows through. The warp and weft yarns are knit to the paper backing material and held firmly in place by the polyethylene film on the face of the paper backing. The warp and weft yarns are openly spaced so that the color and/or design printed on the paper shows through and provides a pleasant view to the area in which the wallcovering is installed.

Wallcovering

A novel method and apparatus to produce a novel woven fabric with a pattern integral therewith. The pattern is formed in the fabric during weaving by selectively stretching the warp yarn between the fell line and the warp beam so that the stretched warp yarn creates an open area and upon release creates an area of high density fill yarn.

Patterned woven fabric

Method and apparatus to produce a continuous filament textured yarn with unusually low crimp contraction and intermittent crimp and molecular orientation along its length. This is accomplished by the use of an electromagnetic tension device to control the draw in the yarn being supplied to a false twist device driven at a speed to provide low false twist in the yarn being twisted. The apparatus includes a control between the electromagnetic tension control and the yarn supply package to prevent the yarn coming off the package from rotating in a full balloon path and consequently prevent entanglement of the yarn in the yarn guides as it passes to a yarn consuming machine.

Method, apparatus and intermittently textured yarn

An electromagnetic disc type tension control in which the yarn guiding post is slotted off-center between the discs so that the yarn being tensioned is received between the discs and exerts a torsional force on the tension discs to cause the tension discs to rotate in order to enhance the dissipation and self-cleaning of the yarn finish accummulated therebetween.

Slotted disc type yarn tension control

A direct current electromagnetic disc type tension control which has alternating current superimposed on the direct current circuit to allow the electromagnet to vibrate the tension discs in order to break the contact between the tension discs and between the tension discs and the electromagnet to lower the resistance to rotation of the discs by the yarn passing therethrough. The direct current electromagnetic tension control is an electromagnetic disc type tension control in which the yarn guiding post is slotted off-center between the discs so that the yarn being tensioned is received between the discs and exerts a torsional force on the tension discs to cause the tension discs to rotate in order to enhance the dissipation and self-cleaning of the yarn finish accummulated therebetween.

A.C.-D.C. Slotted type yarn tension control

An area rug having an upper loop or pile surface and a secondary backing having a thin, open cell urethane backing adhered thereto to lessen the tendency of the area rug to crawl on the undersurface while maintaining total thickness no greater than 10% greater than the thickness of the primary rug.

Thin polyurethane foam backed rug

A method of making slub or thick and thin yarns with twist variation on open end spinning machines by changing the speed of the yarn as it exits from the rotor of the open end spinning machine. The method produces a unique slub yarn which has a portion of high twist adjacent the slub in the yarn which has lower yarn twist.
