A transceiver module ( ) having a release mechanism includes a connector assembly ( ), a driving device ( ), and a pull tab ( ). The connector assembly includes a tab ( ) for being received in a hole ( ) of a bendable portion ( ) of a receptacle ( ), which receptacle receives the transceiver module therein. The driving device includes, a release member ( ) and a wedge member ( ). Both the pull tab and the wedge member are mechanically linked to the release member. When the pull tab is pulled outwardly, the release member rotates with respect to the connector assembly, driving the wedge member to press against the bendable portion of the receptacle, thus disengaging the tab from the hole. The transceiver module is then easily withdrawn from the receptacle. This arrangement allows the transceiver modules to be closely stacked together while still being readily accessible. This advantage decreases a stacking height of multiple transceiver modules.

A small form-factor pluggable metal cage has two sidewalls, a sidewall cover, a top plate, a soleplate and a rear cover, which are made of a single piece of metal plate. Two types of legs extend from the cage, one being compliant type for extending through holes defined in a printed circuit board and the other being piggy type abutting against the board. The compliant legs have an elongate body having a free end offset in a first direction. The free end forms a lateral projection in a second direction opposite to the first direction whereby the compliant legs serve as broad locks preventing the cage from disengaging from the board during the course of reflowing, while the piggy legs serve as standoffs for separating the cage from the board.

An optical transceiver module comprises a base having a bottom plate and two side walls extending upward from the bottom plate, each side wall having a reception socket formed therein. A latch is resiliently and removably fixed to the reception socket and includes a deformable portion extending out of the reception socket. An interconnection bracket : positioned in the base, removable in vertical direction and fixed in horizontal direction with respect to the base. Two diodes are fixed in the interconnection bracket. A circuit board is fixed to the interconnection bracket and solder to the diodes.

A revertible shielding door pivotably and resiliently connected to a base is provided in the present invention. The revertible shielding door comprises a pivot pivotably associated with the base. Two shielding plates extend from the pivot and they are coplanar with each other. Two spring arms extend from two ends of the pivot and each spring arm has a first section coplanar with the shielding plates and a second section extending from the first section and horizontally offset from the first section at a terminated end firmly fixed to the base.
