In the present method, a partial flow is guided through a partial flow line connected downstream of an exhaust gas outlet of an internal combustion engine, and is immediately thereafter supplied to an internal combustion engine either via a first valve, a bypass line which is connected directly downstream and a recirculation line. Alternatively, the partial exhaust gas flow can be supplied to the internal combustion engine via a second valve, a radiator which is connected directly downstream and a recirculation line. The first valve and the second valve are opened or closed as a function of the exhaust gas conditions, this being monitored by a sensor. A device for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

To monitor adequate oil lubrication of an internal combustion engine, air bubbles in the oil flow are detected by means of a sensor arranged in an oil line of a pressure circulation lubrication system and connected to an electronic evaluation system. These air bubbles are an early indicator of inadequate lubrication of the internal combustion engine.

A load-adjustment device for the internal combustion engine of an automotive vehicle has a control lever (1) which, for instance, displaces a throttle valve and is held by a coupling spring (9) against an intermediate lever (5) which can be swung directly by the accelerator pedal (3). A damping device (11) is so developed that, upon a sudden movement of the intermediate lever (5) in the direction of full load, the control lever (1) follows this movement only with a time lag action so that the automative vehicle is not accelerated with excessive jerk.

Load-adjusting device

A load-adjustment device for the internal combustion engine of an automotive vehicle has a control lever (1) which, for instance, displaces a throttle valve and is held by a coupling spring (9) against an intermediate lever (5) which can be swung directly by the accelerator pedal (3). A damping device (11) is so developed that, upon a sudden movement of the intermediate lever (5) in the direction of full load, the control lever (1) follows this movement only with a time lag action so that the automotive vehicle is not accelerated with excessive jerk.

In a system having an electronic controller for internal combustion engines, particularly injection engines in which the controller is functionally connected to a plurality of sensors and at least one actuator, the controller is part of an assembly which furthermore comprises a throttle-valve arrangement, an air-mass sensor and a throttle-valve position sensor. In systems with central injection, the injection valve can also be arranged within the assembly. By the compact structural unit thus obtained, cable connections are reduced to a minimum, so that, in their turn, reliability is increased and expense is saved. Furthermore, the arrangement facilitates maintenance and repair.

Electronic controller for internal combustion engines

In a fuel-injection valve, a holding member which bears a plug as atomizing and metering element is inserted in a valve bore. A replaceable diaphragm makes it possible to adjust the precise discharge quantity of the fuel-injection valve by replacement of said diaphragm.

A system for controlling the vehicle speed of travel as well as for regulating the idling speed of automotive vehicles having an Otto engine, comprising an actuator which adjusts the position of a regulating element for control of the vehicle speed as a function of the position of a desired-value transmitter. A closure element, as well, which determines the through-put passage cross section of a by-pass, the latter connecting a region in front of the regulating element with a region behind the regulating element, the closure element being displaceable by an automatically controlled actuator. The first-mentioned actuator and the automatically controlled actuator constitute a single actuator means common both for controlling the vehicle speed of travel and for regulating the idling speed. The single actuator actuates the closure element for regulating the idling speed, in a first operating range and operates the regulating member for controlling the vehicle speed of travel in a second operating range.

A valve system for regulating the idling speed of Otto engines, particularly automobile engines, by controlling the amount of air on an outlet side with an electromechanical setting member which comprises a valve element which limits the effective outlet cross section, the valve element being moveable by an electric drive member and being in communication on one side with the outlet side, and having a circuit which controls the setting member as a function of the speed of rotation. The valve element is mounted substantially free of friction and means are provided for exerting on the valve element a compensating force which opposes the force caused by the suction vacuum.
