Process and device for correcting the shape of a lens

A coupling mirror (13) for coupling in a laser beam (14) is located in the optical axis of a slit illumination (4,7). A pair of prisms (11) is provided between this coupling mirror 913) and the tube objective (9) of the illumination tube (1), this pair of prisms spliting the light beam of the slit illumination up into two partial beams (12) situated at the side of the coupling mirror (13). As well the slit illumination as the laser beam are focused in a place (16) in the eye by a front objective (15). This design allows the use of a conventional illumination tube which may be rotated together with the slit diaphragm (7) in order to change the direction of the slit image in the eye. For all angular positions of the slit diaphragm a good brightness of the slit illumination is hereby achieved.

Apparatus for examination and treating an eye

An apparatus for laser surgery, particularly of the cornea is provided. Through this apparatus, a laser, especially a UV-laser, can be imaged on the tissue undergoing the operation. A diaphragm is arranged in the optical path of the laser and defines the illuminated region of the tissue. The diaphragm includes a slit which has a fixed angular alignment and an adjustable length and width. Further, an optical rotary device is provided which rotates the beam about an optical axis in between the slit and the tissue undergoing the operation.

A device is described for the integration of operating light and of monitoring and/or target light into an ocular examination instrument, for example a split lamp instrument, whose lamp and monitoring instrument can be rotated through a vertical axis drawn through the eye to be examined. In the device according to this invention the operating light beam and the monitoring and/or target light beam are directed in a strictly coaxial relationship. The coaxial light beams are first introduced into the axis of the split lamp designed as a concave axis, then deflected by a first optical apparatus out of the revolution axis in an almost vertical direction into the holder of the monitoring instrument and in this holder are deflected almost parallel to the revolution axis and finally integrated into the beam path of the monitoring instruments outside the revolution axis by a third optical apparatus.
