The invention relates to a latch that comprises a lock and a closing part that engages with the latter. Said lock comprises a catch () and a clink and said catch () comprises a receiving element () for the closing part and has a stepped profile in the direction of the periphery, said stepped profile having a prestop () and a main stop () for a locking point on the clink. Said catch () can be adjusted at least between three rotational positions which are an open position, a stop position and a main stop position. In order to prevent problems with the latch, the prestop () and the main stop () are placed on the catch () at a radial distance (), that is different from each other, in relation to the rotational axis (). A sensor determines the different radial distance that is obtained in the prestop position and the main stop position, and informs the control device. In accordance with the information provided to the sensor, the control device performs the functions defined by vehicle.

The invention relates to a latch that comprises a lock and a closing part (). Said lock comprises a catch (), a click () equipped with an adjusting arm () and a motorised opening aid (). Said catch () comprises a receiving element for the closing part () and at least one stop notch () for engaging the click (). The opening aid () is equipped with an eccentric () that is driven by a motor, whereby the eccentric curve interacts with a lateral adjusting surface of the adjusting arm () and ensures that the clink () is displaced in a motorised manner from its locked position in the stop notch () into an elevated position. In order to prevent problems in the latch, an end segment () of the eccentric () and/or the adjusting arm () of the clink () is elastic. When in the elevated position, the clink () is on a fixed stop (), performing an elastic deformation () when passing the eccentric end segment () on the adjusting arm () of the clink (), until an end-sided shoulder of the eccentric () catches behind a counter shoulder on the adjusting arm (). After catching, the eccentric shoulder is supported on the clink counter shoulder and prevents the eccentric () from reversing.

The invention relates to a lock, especially for automotive doors or flaps, comprising a rotary latch () with which a closing element () engages when the door is closed and which pivots the rotary latch () from an open position via a pre-latch position to a main latch position. The lock further comprises a catch () which, in a pre-latch position, engages with a pre-stop notch provided on the rotary latch (), and in a main latch position engages with a main stop notch provided on the rotary latch (). An actuating element () acts upon the catch () in the manner of a power-driven opening assistance. An actuating surface () which radially enlarges in the direction of rotation () effects the lifting of the latch () in a simple manner. A loaded lever on the lock prevents the catch () from re-engaging with the rotary latch () once the catch () is disengaged, in case the rotary latch () does not pivot to the open position due to a load. The inventive lock is inexpensive to produce and very reliable due to its simple design.

A driving device for a rollover bar for motor vehicles has a piston-cylinder unit that, in a crash situation, extends the rollover bar out of a rest position into a supporting position. A further or second piston-cylinder unit is provided as an additional drive for the purpose of adjusting the first piston-cylinder unit. The influence of the further piston-cylinder unit on the first piston-cylinder unit can be cancelled in the presence of a crash signal. The piston of the first piston-cylinder unit has detent toothing formed on it which acts counter to a retraction movement of the first piston-cylinder unit and with which a controllable detent element is brought into engagement by means of a hydraulic cylinder in any extended position. A piston of the further piston-cylinder unit is held releasably in its retracted position by a controllable locking device. In addition to controlling the detent element, the hydraulic cylinder controls the locking device in such a way that the piston of the further piston-cylinder unit is released in the case of arbitrary extension from its rest position and is otherwise held in the said rest position by the locking device.

A covering arrangement for a folding-top compartment which is arranged in the rear region of a vehicle and into which it is possible to pivot a folding top which has a solid, bottom rear-wall termination, and having a folding-top cover by way of which it is possible to cover the frame opening behind the rear-wall termination of the closed folding top. The covering arrangement includes a panel covering by way of which it is possible to cover most of the frame opening of the folding-top compartment in front of the rear-wall termination of the closed folding top, and having the capability for the panel covering to be displaced. This capability makes it possible for at least a rear panel of the panel covering to be moved forward into an out-of-the-way position, such that the folding top can be pivoted past it. Once the folding top has been stowed away, the rear panel can be moved rearward into a position in which the rear panel adjoins the front border side of the folding-top-compartment cover. A front panel of the panel covering has a cross-sectional length which is adapted to the path along which the rear panel is displaced between its two covering positions. The front panel can be transferred out of its covering position into a not-in-use position, and the rear panel can be displaced forward to serve as a correspondingly shortened panel covering.

A panel cover assembly is provided for a forward area of a frame opening of a top storage compartment into which, when the rear lid is open, a folding top with a fixed rear end can be folded inward. A cover panel serves as a parcel shelf when the top is closed, which cover panel is displaced rearward when the top is opened. Side flaps are arranged with mirror symmetry and articulated to ends of the cover panel. Mechanical forced control of the folding motion of the side flaps is provided as a function of the position of the cover panel that is displaceable in the lengthwise direction of the vehicle. The side flaps are constantly urged by springs in an upwardly folded direction and are each foldable downwardly and backwardly into their covering positions by a tensioning cable that is secured to the forward end by displacement of the cover panel rearward into its covering position. A deflecting guide structure for the corresponding tensioning cable fastened to the side flap at its rear end being provided on the lateral end areas of the cover panel.

A movable roof construction for an open or convertible passenger car with a two-part foldable hardtop. To prevent the occurrence of wind noises in the area of the bordering of the two hardtop parts, a locking mechanism is provided between the two parallelogram control arms on each side of the parallelogram linkage. The locking mechanism is restrictedly coupled by transmission devices to the locking device of the forward roof part on the windshield cross member. Thereby, for a release of the parallelogram control arms, the locking mechanism can be unlocked together with an unlocking of the locking device.

A folding roof arrangement for a motor vehicle is provided with a folding cover whose forward end is fastened to a transversely extending roof cap which can be locked by way of locking members on the motor vehicle body when the roof is closed. The folding roof arrangement is provided with lateral folding top frames with which the roof cap is displaceably connected. The locking members have closing members which are arranged on the roof cap and which are applied to tensioning elements arranged on the motor vehicle body. The locking members displace the roof cap in the x-direction toward the front relative to the folding top frames for end position locking.

Locking assembly for releasably locking a vehicle roof

A drive system is provided for moving a lockable vehicle part. The drive system includes a drive element that operates with a change in length. The element is supported at its ends on the vehicle part and on the body. A releasable snap lock is provided by which the vehicle part is locked in one of its end positions. The snap lock is released by a control stroke of the drive element effectively connected with the release mechanism of the snap lock. The control stroke precedes the working stroke to move the vehicle part by connecting one end of the drive element to a release mechanism. In order to reduce the space required in the vehicle for the drive system, a rotary joint is provided as the release mechanism for the control stroke of the drive element.
