The present invention relates to a doctor device for metering and/or leveling a liquid to pasty medium applied to a moving surface, the surface in the case of direct application being a paper, board or other fibrous web and in the case of indirect application being the surface of a transfer element which transfers the medium to the fibrous web. The doctor device includes a cylindrical metering rod and a pressure tube, with which the metering rod can be pressed against the moving surface for the purpose of metering and/or leveling the medium applied. Additionally, the doctor device is of modular design, having a top part and a bottom part, the top part being provided with a first holder for holding the pressure tube, and the bottom part being provided with a second holder for holding a clamping tube.

Doctor device

Two axially parallel rolls are pressed against each other in a device for producing and/or treating a moving material web. Sensor elements are arranged in the force transmission path running from the force-producing elements via the rolls, outside roll bodies of the two rolls. As a result of displacing the sensor elements out of the roll bodies of the rolls, the production of the rolls is less complicated and less expensive. No sensors have to be embedded in the roll bodies, which opens up the possibility of using standard rolls. In addition, the occasional grinding of the rolls can in this way be performed without any regard to the sensor elements. Nevertheless, the pressure prevailing between the rolls can continue to be measured directly, since the sensor elements are arranged in the transmission path of the pressing force.

Device, method and arrangement for pressing two axis-parallel rollers approachable to one another in a device for producing and/or treating a web of material

A device for applying a liquid to pasty medium to a moving surface, the moving surface in the case of direct application being the surface of a paper, board or other fibrous web. In the case of indirect application the moving surface being the surface of a transfer element which transfers the application medium to the surface of the fibrous web. The device includes an applicator for applying the medium and a doctor device arranged downstream in the running direction of the moving surface for doctoring off and/or equalizing the medium applied to the moving surface. In order to collect excess medium that has not remained on the moving surface and/or has not reached the latter, a flexible collecting part covering the interspace between applicator and doctor device is provided, which extends transversely with respect to the running direction of the moving surface and parallel to the applicator and the doctor device.

Application device

An elongated component part, extending across the width of a moving material web, can be adjusted for the purpose of applying a liquid or viscid medium onto the moving material web. The component part is supported by a supporting beam and is equipped with an adjustment fixture including a plurality of adjustment devices which are arranged along the length of the elongated component part at the support locations. The adjustment devices are separated from each other and adjusted for achieving a forced deformation of the component part in a direction that is perpendicular to their longitudinal axis. The adjustment positions of the respective adjustment devices are recorded. Imaginary connecting lines between the free ends of two respective, neighboring support locations are formed. An angle between two respective, neighboring connecting lines is calculated. The respective, calculated angle is compared with a pre-determined boundary angle. Either the respective adjustment device is adjusted by a pre-determined adjustment distance until the desired angle is achieved, or the adjustment of the respective adjustment device is terminated in case the pre-determined boundary angle is reached.

Process and apparatus for adjustment of an elongated component part

An application unit for the direct or indirect application of a liquid or pasty medium onto a moving material web includes a dosing gap formed as a free jet nozzle. The dosing gap is formed between a leading lip and a trailing lip. The leading lip is adjustable along the length of the application unit in terms of its distance from the trailing lip.
