The present invention relates to a sealing band for a sealing jaw arrangement, comprising a contact surface and an opposite bottom surface, a first portion adjacent to the contact surface and a second portion adjacent to the bottom surface. The portions are separated by a waist, and said sealing band is symmetrical along a first axis that extends perpendicularly from a middle of the bottom surface, and the waist between the first portion and the second portion is located closer to the contact surface than to the bottom surface. The invention also relates to a counter jaw for holding the sealing band, and to a sealing jaw arrangement comprising such a counter jaw and a heating jaw.

Pressure pad for a heat-sealing device in a packaging machine, the heat-sealing device having a heat-sealing jaw and a counter-jaw adapted to seal together two surfaces of a packaging material when the jaws are pressed together. The pressure pad comprises a first portion, adapted to be mounted on the counter-jaw of the heat-sealing device, and a second portion, in use arranged towards the heat-sealing jaw of the heat-sealing device. A cross-section of said second portion, along the extension of the pressure pad, has a substantially constant arc-shape of the outer contact surface in use facing the heat-sealing jaw. The pressure pad is made up of a resilient material, and the cross-section of said arc-shaped outer contact surface has a radius of curvature of 15 mm&#xb1;5 mm. The invention further relates to a heat-sealing device having such a pressure pad.

The invention relates to a counter element () being adapted to apply a pressure to a first portion of a packaging material in association with heating of the packaging material in order to seal the first portion of the packaging material to a second portion of the packaging material. The element () being provided with an abutment surface () adapted to at least abut said first portion of the packaging material. The abutment surface () is provided with a plurality of indentations () adapted to entrap fluid or gas present in the vicinity of the abutment surface () and the first portion of the packaging material. The inventions also relates to a method of providing a counter element () as described above.

Counter element and method of producing the same

The present invention relates to a counter rail and a dolly, suitable for use in an apparatus for heat sealing a laminated packaging material for packaging of a liquid or flowing product, wherein the counter rail and the dolly each are made of a substantially plastics material. The invention also relates to an apparatus for heat sealing and to a sealing/cutting apparatus including said counter rail and dolly, as well as to a packaging machine including such a sealing apparatus and counter rail and dolly of the invention. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of producing said counter rail and dolly by means of co-injection molding.
