A heat exchanger may include a heat exchanger block including a plurality of flat tubes held at a longitudinal end side in a respective rim hole of an associated tube plate. The respective rim hole may have at least two mutually opposite and substantially straight long sides and at least two mutually opposite narrow sides. A brazed connection may be disposed between at least one of the at least two long sides of at least one of the respective rim holes and a corresponding one of the flat tubes arranged therein, and the brazed connection may have an undulating brazing boundary. At least one of the plurality of flat tubes may include at least one partition. The undulating brazing boundary may have a high point that defines an increased thickness in relation to a plane running through two opposite groove bases disposed in the tube plate.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchanger, in particular exhaust-gas cooler, is described herein. The heat exchanger includes tubes of unipartite form or formed from two plates. The tubes form a first and a second fluid duct, and the respective fluid ducts are arranged adjacent to one another. The first fluid duct is designed to be open at at least one of its ends for the inflow and/or outflow of a first fluid. The second fluid ducts are closed at an end side of the tubes by way of an inward or outward step. The step has a greater extent T in the tube longitudinal direction in the corner regions of the tube than between the corner regions. Several non-limiting descriptive embodiments are disclosed herein.

Plate type heat exchanger for exhaust gas

A container for a waste heat utilization circuit may include a housing that defines a housing interior such that the housing interior can be flowed through by a working medium. A sheath may be arranged in the housing interior for accommodating an auxiliary medium. The sheath may be fluid-tight and heat-conductive at least in certain areas. The sheath may define a sheath interior of variable volume.

Container for a waste heat utilization circuit

The invention relates to a heat exchanger, in particular exhaust-gas cooler or charge-air cooler, comprising a plate stack composed of multiple elongate plate pairs, wherein in each case two interconnected plates form a first fluid duct between them, and a second fluid duct is formed between two plate pairs, wherein the plates of a plate pair are of U-shaped form with a bottom and upturned side walls and lie against one another so as to delimit the first flow duct, wherein one of the plates of a plate pair has, on its end side, a tab which serves for beading over around the end side of the other plate, wherein the tab on the bottom of the plate is beaded over, and the beading-over of the tab also continues into the side walls of the plates.

An exhaust gas system for a motor vehicle may include an exhaust gas aftertreatment device communicating fluidically with an exhaust gas evaporation device. The exhaust gas aftertreatment device and the exhaust gas evaporation device may be arranged in one or more housings. A connecting line may be provided to fluidically connect the exhaust gas aftertreatment device to the exhaust gas evaporation device. The connecting line may include a fluid inlet connected to the exhaust gas aftertreatment device and a fluid outlet connected to the exhaust gas evaporation device. An evaporation bypass line may branch off from the connection line at a branching-off point. A valve apparatus may be arranged in at least the connecting line and may be adjustable between a first position to fluidly connect the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet, and a second position to fluidly connect the fluid inlet to the evaporator bypass line.

Exhaust gas system for a motor vehicle

A corrugated fin, in particular for a heat exchanger, having a substantially corrugated design, having a plurality of fin surfaces, wherein adjoining fin surfaces are connected to one another by means of a fin arch in such a way that a medium can flow through an intermediate space between adjoining fin surfaces, wherein the fin surfaces are arranged at an angle with respect to one another perpendicularly with respect to a throughflow direction for the medium, wherein the fin surface has at least one bulge which protrudes out of the plane of the fin surface, wherein the extent of the bulge in a direction perpendicularly with respect to the air throughflow direction is smaller than the extent of the fin surface in said direction.

Corrugated fin and method for producing it

The application relates to a system for using the waste heat of an internal combustion engine through the Clausius-Rankine cycle. Such system prevents operating medium from the Clausius-Rankine cycle from leaking into combustion air or exhaust air. The system has a first flow channel formed by at least one first limiting component and a second flow channel formed by at least one second limiting component. The system has a fluid-conducting connection to the surroundings or to a receiving chamber from the first limiting component and preferably from the second limiting component, so that in the event of a leak the operating medium is conducted into the surroundings or into the receiving chamber.

System for using the waste heat of an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a heat exchanger having a tube bundle with tubes as heat exchanger matrix, it being possible for the tubes to be flowed through by a first fluid and in this way defining a first fluid channel, and to be flowed around by a second fluid and in this way defining a second fluid channel, the tube bundle being configured so as to be closed off toward the outside, in order to close off the second fluid channel, or being arranged in a housing, in order to close off the second fluid channel, the tubes being configured so as to be open on the end side for the inflow or outflow of the first fluid.

A cooling system of a motor vehicle may include a coolant circuit including an exhaust-gas recirculation path and an exhaust-gas recirculation cooler arranged therein. A pressure detection device may be provided for detecting a coolant pressure in the coolant circuit. An actuating device may be connected communicatively to the pressure deduction device. A valve device may be connected communicatively to the actuating device and configured to control an exhaust-gas stream passing into the cooler. The actuating device may be configured to at least partially close the valve device and reduce the exhaust-gas stream flowing to the cooler in response to the pressure detection device detecting a predefined pressure drop.

Cooling system of a motor vehicle

The heat conduit may be in thermal communication with the gas conduit. The gas conduit may span, in a direction of flow of the gas, the first section, the second section, and the third section. The heat conduit may span, in a direction of flow of the working fluid, the third section, the first section, and the second section. The invention relates to an exhaust gas heat exchanger () with a housing (), in which a tube bundle () with multiple tubes () is held via headers (), wherein in the tubes () a first flow path for exhaust gas () and between the tubes () and the housing () a second flow path for coolant () runs, wherein the first longitudinal ends of the individual tubes () of the tube bundle () are incorporated in a first header () in a fixed manner, in particular welded or brazed. It is substantial to the invention that at least one of the tubes () is axially moveable in the region of a second longitudinal end relative to the second header () and captive therein.

In an internal combustion engine having a system for utilizing the waste heat from the internal combustion engine via the Clausius-Rankine cycle, a system includes a circuit having lines with a working medium, a working medium pump, a vaporizer-exhaust gas heat exchanger, and a vaporizer-EGR heat exchanger, an expander, and a condenser for liquefying the vaporous working medium. The line for the working medium is run from the condenser to the vaporizer-EGR heat exchanger so that the working medium, after flowing through the condenser, first flows through the vaporizer-EGR heat exchanger, and the line for the working medium is run from the vaporizer-EGR heat exchanger to the vaporizer-exhaust gas heat exchanger so that the working medium, after flowing through the vaporizer-EGR heat exchanger, first flows through the vaporizer-exhaust gas heat exchanger.

Disclosed is an intake pipe for a combustion engine, comprising a housing () with a supply duct () for especially compressed air, a heat exchanger () which is disposed within a main duct () in the housing () and through which the air can flow in order to exchange heat with a fluid, and a bypass duct () that is separated from the main duct () in at least some sections and is fitted with at least one positioning element () to allow the fed air to adjustably bypass the heat exchanger (). An end of the bypass duct () on the engine side is placed at a still flow-relevant short distance from an opening () of an intake valve () of the combustion engine.
