For a separating roll, which finds application on an open end spinning machine, the proposal is made that a spiral trim wire be preformed and precoated before the trim wire is installed upon the circumference of the roll. In this way, separating rolls of the most varying materials may be employed since the rolls themselves need not undergo the coating process. Further, the trim wire may be preformed into a spiral before fitting on the separating roll. Moreover, a process for the production of the trim wire is presented. During the process of coating, the preformed spiral windings are held at an axial distance from one another.

Separating roll for an open end spinning machine

The present invention relates to a device for the conveying of fibers from an opener roller (31) installed in a fixed opener roller housing (30) to the collection surface (43) of a spinning rotor (4) of an open-end spinning device (1). It is provided with a rotor lid mounted on a swivel pin which receives a fiber feeding channel (6). The fiber feeding channel (6) can be brought into contact with a first contact surface (62) surrounding its inlet opening (60) against a second contact surface (35) located on the opener roller housing. It extends until directly in front of the collection surface of the spinning rotor (4). A lid extension extends through an opening in the spinning rotor (4) into the spinning rotor. In the lid extension the fiber feeding channel (6) lets out into the spinning rotor (4). The contact surfaces are essentially tangential to the circumferential surface of the opener roller and parallel to the opening of the spinning rotor or are inclined towards the opening of the spinning rotor.

Device to convey fibers to the collection surface of a spinning rotor

With channels for the conveying of fibers, fiber slivers or yarns on spinning machines, problems are encountered in their manufacture. The channels must be made with a certain inside contour, where at the same time the quality of the surface inside the channel must be very good. The high surface quality is required in order to ensure trouble-free conveying. A channel is therefore proposed which is made as a tubular component, consisting of a metallic material and which has been produced by forming its interior by a medium under pressure. It is proposed for an open-end rotor spinning device to form the conveying channel separately from the other components of the lid of the rotor housing and to insert the channel into the lid. It is proposed in that case to use a channel according to the design shown above.

In an open-end spinning device a yarn draw-off nozzle suitable to ensure constant spinning conditions even at very high rotational speeds is provided. This is achieved in that the yarn draw-off nozzle is designed so as to be especially capable of heat dissipation and thus being capable of preventing a heat accumulation in the area of the yarn draw-off nozzle thanks to its high capability of heat dissipation.

Open-end spinning device

An opening roll for an open-end spinning device upon which clothing is carried. The opening roll includes a unitary member that has enlarged surfaces provided on circumferentially spaced ribs extending between a centrally located hub and a ring shaped concentric surface upon which pressure can be applied for ejecting the unitary member from a mold and for permitting drilling and filling with material for balancing.

The chiplessly formed open end spinning rotor (1) has, in the region of its collecting groove (11), a surface which has not been contacted by shaping tools. To produce it, a pot (3) is first made by stretching and stamping of flat material. This is then secured in its radial position independently of shaping tools. The peripheral wall of the pot (3), in the region between the later collecting groove (11) and the open edge of the pot (3), is upset inward by any optional kind of plastic deformation and the region later to be the collecting groove (11) by unsupported plastic deformation ['against air'].

An insert (3) is arranged in the interior space (10) of a housing (1) of an opening device for an open-end spinning apparatus. The insert (3) is of pot-like construction with a recess (35) provided in the base (34). The recess (35) exposes a bearing bore (18) through which a drive shaft extends for supporting the opening roller. A fixing device (41, 42) is likewise associated with the insert (3) securing its relative position to the housing. A guide element (5) introducible into the insert (3) is provided to guide the insert (3) during introduction into the housing (1) or during its removal. This has a contour corresponding to the interior space (10) of the housing (1) and one or more positioning lugs (50) on its end face opposite the base (34), corresponding to the number of the positioning cavities provided in the insert (3).

An open-end spinning rotor (2) consisting of a basic member (8) and a rotor member (9). The basic member is carried by a bearing and drive element (81, 82, 83) and comprises a substantially radial supporting surface (80) with a centering surface (31) at its outer edge, with which a centering surface (40) of the rotor member (9) co-operates. A connecting element (5) which affords a detachable connection between basic member (8) and rotor member (9) is disposed separately from the centering surfaces (31, 40).

The main body (7) of an open end spinning rotor (3) which comprises a main body (7) and a rotor body (6) wherein the main body is carried by a mounting and drive element and has a substantially radial support surface (72) with a centering surface (70) at its outer edge. A centering surface (61) of the rotor body (6) co-operates with the centering surface 70 of the main body. The centering surfaces (70, 61) in the main body (7) and in the rotor body (6) are in the form of a peripheral groove and a peripheral rib, respectively. The support surface (72) and the centering surfaces (70) of the main body (7) have substantially radial slots (71).
