A manually guided implement having an engine housing and a handle housing that are interconnected by anti-vibration elements. The handle housing is provided with a longitudinal support having, relative to a conventional operating position of the implement, a front end face that is disposed transverse to a longitudinal axis of the longitudinal support. A securement end of a front tubular handle rests against and is secured to the front end face of the longitudinal support.

Manually guided implement

An internal combustion engine has a cylinder () and a crankcase (). A combustion chamber () is formed in the cylinder () and is delimited by a piston (). The piston () rotationally drives a crankshaft () in a rotational direction () via a connecting rod (). The crankshaft () is arranged in a crankcase interior space (). A mixture inlet () is provided in the crankcase interior space (). In the crankcase interior space (), at least one flow conducting element () is provided which is spatially fixed and this flow conducting element projects into the crankcase interior space () and lies opposite to the rotational direction () of the crankshaft ().

Internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine having a cylinder, a fuel-supply mechanism, and an elastic connector for connecting the fuel supply mechanism to the cylinder. The connector has a first channel for fuel/air mixture and a second channel for combustion air. The connector has a first connection end and a second connection end at which the two channels open out. The two channels are separated from one another by a partition that extends in the longitudinal direction of the channels. The partition is twisted about its longitudinal central axis between the first and second connection ends to achieve a great elasticity of the connector. To produce the elastic connector, a respective core is used for each channel, and the cores are moved relative to one another to enable removal of the connector from a mold.

An exhaust-gas muffler () has a housing () through which at least one sleeve () projects. At one end, the sleeve () has an attachment opening () and at the opposite-lying end has an access opening (). To avoid a contamination of the sleeve () during operation, a plug () of a pressed metal wire is arranged in the access opening ().

An air filter arrangement for an internal combustion engine, especially for a two-cycle engine in a manually guided implement such as a power saw, a cut-off machine, etc., and including an air filter element that delimits a first clean chamber. The air filter arrangement has an inlet opening for an air channel and an inlet opening for a mixture channel. A shield is provided for shielding the air filter element relative to the mixture channel. The inlet opening of the air channel and the inlet opening of the mixture channel are interconnected via the shield.

The invention relates to a portable handheld work apparatus such as a motor-driven chain saw having an internal combustion engine mounted in a housing for driving a work tool. A cooling-air blower is mounted on one side of the housing. The cooling-air blower is covered by a blower cover having air-intake openings. The blower cover has a bearing lug facing toward the cooling-air blower. A pull-rope starter for starting the engine is held on the bearing lugs and the housing of the pull-rope starter is attached to the blower cover. The pull-rope starter housing is configured as a component separate from the blower cover in order to minimize the disturbance of the cooling-air inflow by the pull-rope starter housing. This component is attached at a spacing to the air-intake openings of the blower.
