A potentiometer chamber on the intake pipe wall of an internal combustion engine for containing an electrical potentiometer. The potentiometer chamber comprises a limiting wall, formed by the intake pipe wall, a sidewall extends thereto from which serves as lateral limits of the chamber. A partition made by injection molding from plastic, into which are embedded electrical contacts extends from the sidewall and a lid is placed on the partition. Therefore the limiting wall, the sidewall, the partition, and the lid form the chamber that encloses a potentiometer.

Potentiometer chamber on the intake pipe of an internal combustion engine

A flow rate meter which serves to ascertain the mass of a flowing medium, in particular the flow rate of the air aspirated by an internal combustion engine via its air intake tube. The flow rate meter includes a measuring device that is pivotable about a bearing shaft in a flow conduit, in order to reduce the measurement error at maximum flow rate of the medium, a connecting conduit discharges downstream of the measuring device and its opening remote from the flow conduit leads into the damping chamber.

Flow rate meter with pressure equalizer conduit

An electric potentiometer used for conversion of a rotating movement into an electrical value. The potentiometer has a wiper passing across a resistance path and, on the other end, the wiper is rotatingly coupled with a bearing shaft. The resistance path is disposed on a mounting plate next to which is disposed on the intake pipe wall an elongated plug, made of plastic by injection molding, in which are embedded contact prongs, which are connected on the other side in an electrically conducting manner with connecting contacts extending generally perpendicular to the contact prongs.

Electric potentiometer

A flow rate meter which serves to measure a quantity of air aspirated by an internal combustion engine via an air intake tube. The flow rate meter includes a housing, in which a flow conduit having a measuring body is disposed, the measuring body being pivotable about a bearing shaft in accordance with the flow of the medium counter to a restoring force and being joined via at least one strut to a damping body, which in the form of a movable wall defines a damping chamber with respect to the flow conduit. A retaining groove is embodied in the damping chamber wall and is form-fittingly engaged by a retaining section of an elastic stop body. A stop section of the stop body protrudes into the damping chamber and limits the movement of the damping body.

Flow rate meter

A damping device of an air flow rate meter disposed in the intake tube of an internal combustion engine, which air flow rate meter serves to damp the effect of intake-tube recoiling upon the air flow rate meter. The damping device includes a guide bushing, which is firmly connected with a bearing shaft of the air flow rate meter and has an outer Thread-like groove. A blocking body provided with a matching inner thread-like groove is rotatable on the guide bushing and is supported such that it is axially displaceable counter to a compression spring in the direction toward a detent body attached to the housing. The detent body and the blocking body have latch protrusions oriented toward one another, which upon an axial movement of the blocking body toward the detent body are capable of meshing with one another and stopping the movement of the air flow rate meter in the event of intake-tube recoiling.
