A hardline coaxial cable connector is disclosed. The coaxial cable connector comprises an integral locking feature formed in one or both of a body and a ferrule. The integral locking feature is monolithic with at least one of the body and the ferrule. The integral locking feature may comprise cogs part of and monolithic with the body, and slots, flats, pegs or fins part of and monolithic with the ferrule. In this way, cogs engaging with the slots, the flats, the pegs, or the fins act to lock the ferrule in stable position, and, thereby, retain the cable in a stable, non-rotatable position in the connector.

The angled coaxial connector includes an insulator and inner conductor. The steering insulator serves to help guide, align, and locate an inner conductor in the bend of the angled connector. The steering insulator is adapted to receive and retain the inner conductor thereby framing and supporting the conductor. Furthermore, the inner conductor has an angled segment that is milled to have a width and a height, wherein the height of said angled segment is smaller than the width of the angled segment, more particularly, the width is substantially the same size as the diameter of the adjacent segments of the inner conductor. While the illustrated embodiment includes a substantially right angled connector it is understood that the present invention is directed to connectors having either obtuse or acute angles as well.

The angled coaxial connector includes an insulator and inner conductor. The steering insulator serves to help guide, align, and locate an inner conductor in the bend of the angled connector. The steering insulator is adapted to receive and retain the inner conductor thereby framing and supporting the conductor. Furthermore, the inner conductor has an angled segment that is milled to have a width and a height, wherein the height of said angled segment is smaller than the width of the angled segment, more particularly, the width is substantially the same size as the diameter of the adjacent segments of the inner conductor. While the illustrated embodiment includes a substantially right angled connecter it is understood that the present invention is directed to connectors having either obtuse or acute angles as well.

The present invention broadly contemplates a co-axial cable stripping tool generally comprising: (a) an elongated main handle having a bored opening formed longitudinally therein; (b) an elongated shaft a portion of which is co-axially positioned within the bored opening and a portion of which extends co-axially away from the main handle; (c) an elongated main housing co-axially aligned with, and longitudinally spaced from the main housing, and securely engaged with a portion of the elongated shaft; and (d) a stripping housing rotatably co-axially positioned within the main housing, and including first and second openings formed through opposing surfaces thereof, wherein the stripping housing is rotatably movable between two positions, each of which exposes one or the other of the first and second openings towards the free end of the tool. The tool further comprises first and second blades engaged with the stripping housing and tangentially extending into the first and second openings, respectively, whereby upon insertion of a co-axial cable into one of the two openings, manual rotation of the main handle about its longitudinal axis effects rotation of the main housing and stripping housing about the longitudinal axis, thereby causing either the first or second blades to rotate about the axis of the cable, severing the protective layer, outer conductor, and/or dielectric therefrom. Further features of the invention include a spring biased, striping housing lock assembly reciprocally mounted in co-axial relation around the main housing, wherein the assembly prohibits rotation of the stripping housing when in its neutral position, and permits rotation of the stripping housing when slid longitudinally rearwardly along the main housing. Additional features include a gauging mechanism scribed into the exterior wall of the main housing for permitting a user to check the length of materials stripped from the cable.
