A two-piece beverage carrier is disclosed comprising a one-piece folded longitudinal partition insert which is adhesively secured to the end panels and to the bottom panel of a separate paperboard shell. The shell may be constructed as a wrap-around carrier or it may be constructed in the form of a basket style. The insert for either type of shell has formed thereon a plurality of transverse butterfly partition panels which also have formed thereon glue tabs for adhesively securing the butterfly partitions to the side panels of the paperboard shell. The insert utilizes a low caliber, single thickness of paperboard in formation of the production blank and by the structure and outline of the butterfly partition panels, heavier thickness is obtained between cells of the erected carrier.

Two-piece beverage carrier

A sleeve-style beverage carton for use on a carton filling machine having traveling flight bars is disclosed. The carton may be formed in various models for use in packaging either cans or bottles and contains a novel first cut-out formed in the dust flaps of the carton. The first cut-out is sized a predetermined length to provide a cut-out area so that the dust flaps can be revolved during the filling operation to clear the traveling flight bar used in the carton filling machine. A second pair of cut-outs may be formed in the dust flaps for similar purposes. A third and fourth pair of cut-outs may be formed in the dust flaps to minimize drag in combination with the first and second pair of cut-outs on one version of the carton. A fifth and sixth pair of cut-outs may be used with one of the models shown to aid in proper alignment of the carton end panels.

Sleeve-style beverage carton

An improved sleeve-style beverage package designed to be shipped to a canning operation in a flat form and then wrapped around a group of cans or beverage bottles. The package comprises novel top primary panel locking means formed on the pair of overlapping top panels. The top panels also contain handle means which may form a secondary top panel locking means to secondarily lock the top panels together whenever the package is closed and locked.

A two-piece beverage carrier is disclosed comprising a one-piece folded longitudinal partition insert which is adhesively secured to the end panels and to the bottom panel of a separate paperboard shell. The shell may be constructed as a wrap-around carrier or it may be constructed in the form of a basket style. An improved wrap-around beverage carrier for a plurality of bottles having a unique, fully integrated product separation means formed as a part of the carrier. The separation means is formed as a combination of an upper product separation means and a lower product separation means with the upper product separation means being formed from two adjacent panels hingedly attached together and folded in the manner shown in the drawings. The lower product separation means comprises a plurality of upwardly turned tabs positioned between the bottles to provide both longitudinal and transverse separation.

A new and improved beverage package and production blank for a beverage package having improved locking features. The novel locking feature comprises a combination of the use of primary male adjustable locking portions in combination with secondary female punch-style locking portions formed in the manner herein described. A variation of the novel combination may utilize tertiary punch-style female locking portions also formed on the margins of the locking structure.

A returnable wrap-around beverage carrier and production blank for forming a carrier. The beverage carrier and production blank are formed in a one-piece construction and contain an inner double-walled longitudinal partition in the preferred embodiment which is formed from a partial side panel and is fixedly attached to the bottom wall of the carrier through a plurality of glue tabs. The two longitudinal partition panels of the preferred embodiment contain handle means for carrying the erected carrier after the top panel has been torn off and the bottles have been removed by the customer.

Returnable wrap-around beverage carrier

A novel crown support carrier is disclosed having a generally one-piece construction formed in an inverted U-shaped configuration. A pair of downwardly depending legs are formed on the apex of the U-shape and tape means are applied to the lower corner portions of each leg to tightly pull the downwardly positioned legs against the bottles contained in the carrier to thereby form a tightly secured beverage carrier. The tape means has indicia designating printing positioned thereon in the form of advertising or other copy material. In the preferred embodiments, the carrier is designed for two or six bottle capacity but may be used for other combinations of bottles such as three, four, five or more than six bottles.

An improved partition structure for a wrap-around beverage carrier is disclosed. The partition structure comprises an elongated longitudinal structure having at least two hinged butterfly elements formed thereon and the structure has at least one hinged tab formed on the bottom edge of the partition structure. The tab extends on opposite sides of the structure for engagement beneath the bottles contained in the carrier. As a result the partition does not have to be glued to the carrier.

A picnic cooler container is disclosed which is utilized in packaging a plurality of multiple articles such as cans of beverage or the like. The cans are inserted into the container through the ends of the container package. The container is designed to be opened by the purchaser of the container with the container being designed to receive a quantity of bulk ice placed on top of the plurality of multiple articles. The container comprises a plurality of side and end panels which have hingedly connected thereto side and end flaps which are glued down for shipping and transporting without the ice. The side and end flaps may then be pulled up and formed into an upper water-proof well area which retains the bulk ice on top of the multiple articles packaged in the lower water-proof container area.

Blank for a carton lid or the like

An improved crown support carrier production blank and erected carrier for use with a plurality of beverage bottles. The production blank and the erected carrier are formed with a plurality of inclined upper side and end panels hingedly attached to a central panel and hingedly attached to a plurality of vertical lower side and end panels. A plurality of T-shaped corner glue tabs are formed in the corners of the production blank and are adhesively secured to the lower side and end panels when the production blank is erected to a completed carrier. The T-shaped glue tabs act as an exceptional reinforcing strip on the corners while their shape and placement are designed to round out or soften the corners rather than have sharp piercing corners typical in prior art carriers. Sunburst bottle receiving openings are positioned in the central panel along with at least one opening for use in carrying the package.

An improved wrap-around beverage carrier which provides for total separation between adjacent containers in the carrier is provided in the subject invention. In the preferred embodiment the carrier is designed to hold twelve cans of a given product and is designed in a one-piece configuration. The novel partitioning arrangement within the carrier permits total separation to prevent cans from coming in contact with each other during shipping, thereby avoiding abrasion marks on printed aluminum beverage cans. The novel divider structure is hinged from an interior partitioned panel and has a novel configuration of the panel wherein the novel configuration allows the partition to be used for total separation without requiring additional partition structures to be placed within the carrier.
