In some embodiments, the instant invention provides a chemiluminescent system, including: an activator system, including: (a) at least one first solvent, (b) at least one peroxide, (c) at least one catalyst, (d) at least one second solvent, where the at least one second solvent is selected from the group consisting of: tert-butanol, 3-methyl-3-pentanol, 2-methyl-2-butanol, ethyl 2-hydroxyisobutyrate, methyl 2-hydroxyisobutyrate, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, ethylene glycol diethyl ether, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, ethylene glycol dibutyl ether, propylene glycol dimethyl ether, and a combination thereof; where a combination of the at least one first solvent and the at least one second solvent is present in a sufficient amount in the chemiluminescent system so as to result in the chemiluminescent system producing a light having an illuminescence between 0.1 1&#xd7; and 35,000 1&#xd7; at a temperature ranging from &#x2212;110 degrees Celsius to 75 degrees Celsius.

Low temperature activator systems and methods for chemiluminescent reactions

Broad temperature performance chemiluminescent systems and methods

In some embodiments, the instant invention provides a chemiluminescent system, including: an oxalate system, including: (a) at least one oxalate ester in an amount ranging from 3 to 60 percent by weight based on a total weight of the oxalate system, (b) at least one first solvent selected from the group consisting of: alkyl benzoates, dialkyl phthalates, trialkyl acetylcitrates, 2-acetyloxy isobutyrates, paraffinic liquids, isoparaffinic liquids, toluene, nitroethane, in an amount ranging from 10 to 97 percent by weight based on the total weight of the oxalate system, (c) at least one second solvent is selected from the group consisting of: dialkyl malonates, dialkyl dialkylmalonates, dialkyl arylalkylmalonates, dialkyl succinates, dialkyl glutarates, dialkyl adipates, dialkyl pimelates, dialkyl polyalkylmalonates, (d) at least one fluorescer, and (e) at least one inorganic salt in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 30 percent by weight based on the total weight of the oxalate system.

Low temperature oxalate systems and methods for chemiluminescent reactions

In some embodiments, the instant invention provides a chemiluminescent system, including: an activator system, including: (a) at least one first catalyst including at least one benzyl amine; (b) at least one second catalyst including at least one of: (i) a salicylate derivative, and (ii) a benzoate derivative; (c) at least one first solvent, and (d) at least one peroxide, where the at least one first catalyst is present in an amount ranging from 1 to 99 percent by weight of a combination of the at least one first catalyst and the at least one second catalyst; where the at least one second catalyst is present in an amount ranging from 99 to 1 percent by weight of the combination of the at least one first catalyst and the at least one second catalyst; and where the chemiluminescent system has at least one chemiluminescent property.

Mixed catalyst systems and methods for chemiluminescent reactions

The present disclosure relates to a powder composition comprising both chemiluminescent and fluorescent components. In some embodiments, the disclosure provides a marking system, which is in powder form, comprising at least one oxalate ester, at least one fluorescer, at least one peroxide, at least one catalyst, and at least one secondary fluorescent agent. In accordance with the present disclosure, the at least one oxalate ester, the at least one fluorescer, the at least one peroxide, and the at least one catalyst are admixed at the time of use for the generation of light. In certain embodiments, the chemiluminescent components emit light in the visible, ultra-violet, or infrared spectrum as the result of a chemical reaction, and the secondary fluorescent components can be selected for their ability to absorb at least some of the light generated by the chemiluminescent components, and then reemit light at a different wavelength.

Combined chemiluminescent and fluorescent powder marking system

The disclosure relates to a marking system comprising at least one module, which comprises at least two sections, wherein the at least one module fails upon an expulsion charge initiation or a delayed expulsion charge initiation, and wherein the at least two sections each independently comprise at least one system chosen from a fluorescent system, a thermal-generating system, and a chemical light system. In some embodiments, a section of a module as disclosed herein comprises a heat/light system that generates both heat and light signals. Chemical light producing systems and the chemiluminescent formulations contained therein are taught which exhibit reduced hydrolysis and thereby are characterized by an inherently long shelf-life and commercial viability. By replacing the typical oxalate ester, e.g. (bis{3,4,6-trichloro-2-[(pentoxy)carbonyl]phenyl}oxalate) with a branched chain oxalic acid ester represented by the general formula: 

Chemical light producing formulations and devices containing branched oxalate esters

Compounds are disclosed for the production of chemiluminescent light, particularly for the production of blue/violet light within the range of about 390 nm to less than 438 nm, and most particularly to the use of compounds composed of symmetrically and asymmetrically substituted anthracenes which are effective for increasing the production of such blue/violet light when used as fluorescers in conjunction with chemiluminescent systems. These systems utilize derivatives of 9,10-diphenylanthracene containing one or more fluorines As shown in General Formulae 1-3. The variables shown in Formulae 1-3 are defined in the specification.

Pressure activatable chemiluminescent system useful for covert intrusion detection

A chemiluminescent system and device is disclosed wherein a first polymeric sheet having a shaped cavity therein is sealed around its periphery to a second polymeric sheet and the cavity contains a cured PVC plastisol having admixed an oxalate solution and finely divided semiconductor laser crystals and a sealed receptacle containing a liquid component of a chemiluminescent activator. Placed over the plastisol or container is a light filter having a dye or dyes, pigment or pigments compounded into the filter, the dyes or pigments are chosen from those that absorb certain parts of the spectrum such that all light emissions up to 1050 nm are absorbed and anything beyond 1050 nm is transmitted. The devices generate a chemiluminescent light at wavelengths chosen to stimulate the semiconductor laser crystals. The semiconductor laser crystals absorb the chemiluminescent light and re-emit energy at wavelengths in the IR. By choosing the proper light absorbing dyes or pigments in the filter element, the emitted wavelength(s) that the activated device emits can be between 1 micron and 2.5 microns but no visible light.

Infra-red lighting system and device

A light stick for providing chemiluminescent light to provide general illumination of an otherwise darkened area. The device is thrown into position causing the chemiluminescent components to mix upon impact with a rigid object thereby generating chemiluminescent light after a predetermined delay. The device will provide illumination to an area of possible criminal activity and can be used tactically by law enforcement officials to help avoid danger to themselves and possibly others.

A chemiluminescent illuminated device employing a light-filtering injection molded polygonal shaped container that is scalloped to form an augmented illumination surface. The shaped housing includes a round shaped or form following chemical holding section.
