In one embodiment, a fiber optic connector assembly is provided that includes an adapter defining a first through opening in which a coupler is arranged. A sleeve defines a second through opening dimensioned to receive the adapter, and the sleeve includes a first threading on an axial end. The first threading is configured to matingly engage with a corresponding second threading defined within an opening of a junction housing. A retention assembly is provided between the adapter and the sleeve, and the retention assembly axially fixes the adapter relative to the sleeve such that the adapter is rotatable relative to the sleeve. The embodiments disclosed herein generally protect against electromagnetic interference (EMI), shield against radiofrequency (RF) signals, prevent attenuation of fiber optic cables due to varying rotational capability, and protect the connector assembly from debris and moisture.

Fiber optic connector assembly

A potentiometer for generating an electrical signal. The potentiometer has an elongated carrier formed of a flexible material and a band of resistive material applied to the carrier. A conductive wiper element is coupled to the elongated carrier at a position remote from the band of resistive material so that when the carrier is bent an electric contact is formed between the resistive band and the wiper element. An electrical signal is generated from the wiper element as flexing of the carrier occurs due to movement of a potentiometer actuator. Both a linear potentiometer and a rotary potentiometer are disclosed.

An angular signalling device comprising a housing, a torque transmitting unit extending through the housing, first and second rotors fixed to respective first and second unit regions for rotation relative to the housing, an output member supported for movement with respect to the housing and the rotors, a transmission for transmitting drive between the output member and the first rotor so that the output member movement bears a predetermined relationship to movement of the first rotor, a first angular displacement signal generator comprising a first signal element fixed with respect to the output member and the second signal element fixed with respect to the housing, the signal elements coupled together and relatively moveable to produce a first angular displacement signal whose value changes in relation to the extent of the relative angular movement between the first rotor and the housing, and a second angular displacement signal generator comprising third and fourth signal elements coupled together to produce a second angular displacement signal having a value which varies in relation to the angular displacement between the first and second rotors.

Angular displacement signalling device

A valve for combining exhaust gas from an engine combustion chamber with engine intake gases. The valve includes a valve body having a gas inlet and a gas outlet connected by a throughpassage. A flow control member supported by the valve body regulates flow through the valve body throughpassage. A magnetic drive is supported for movement with respect to the valve body and coupled to the flow control member to regulate flow in the throughpassage. An electronically actuated field-generating solenoid moves the magnetic drive member to control flow through the valve body. The solenoid and a sensor for monitoring a position of the magnetic drive are supported within a plastic molded housing. The plastic housing also partially encapsulates a pole piece that forms a magnetic circuit in combination with the magnetic drive.

Solenoid activated exhaust gas recirculation valve

An engine control system is disclosed having a unit for providing signals indicative of the position of an engine throttle member. The unit comprises a housing assembly associated with an engine throttle member and containing a stator assembly and a rotor assembly. The rotor assembly moves relative to the stator assembly as the throttle member moves. The rotor and stator assemblies are electrically coupled together for producing first and second continuously variable, ratiometrically identical signals whose values depend upon the throttle member position. The first signal is delivered from the housing assembly for use in controlling the engine operation. Processing circuitry processes the second signal for producing a throttle position validation signal having a first value when the throttle member is in an engine idle range of positions and a second value when the throttle member moves beyond the idle range of positions. If the first signal and the validation signal signify incompatible throttle member positions the engine speed is limited to 'idle.'
