Vaso-occlusive apparatuses, including implants, and methods of using them to treat aneurysms. The vaso-occlusive implants described herein include one or more soft and expandable braided member coupled to a pushable member such as a coil that maybe inserted and retrieved from within an aneurism using a delivery catheter as well as a friction element between the soft braided member and the coil. The friction element allows the relatively soft and elongate implant to be pushed out of a cannula without binding up within the cannula.

A hybrid medical device that can aid in reconstructive or augmentative surgery of the breast is disclosed. The device can utilize a suitable biological collagen tissue matrix combined with a synthetic material, for example, that can impart a high initial strength to the repair site while permitting proper healing and revitalization of the implanted device.

Mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses, and particularly knitted rolling tube mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses configured to have improved tracking for delivery through tortious vessels are described herein. Also described herein are methods of removing clots using a mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses in which the clot is larger than the tractor portion of the mechanical thrombectomy apparatus.

Inverting thrombectomy apparatuses having enhanced tracking

Described herein are negative pressure drains configured as 'rolling' surgical drains including an invertible porous mesh having an expanded configuration so that negative pressure may be applied out of the invertible porous mesh to extend a uniform negative pressure within the body region being treated. The invertible porous mesh may then be withdrawn into the apparatus without significantly disrupting the tissue.

Described herein are implants (e.g., medical textiles/biotextiles) that include stitched gripping filaments to increase gripping, and methods of forming and using them. In some configurations these apparatuses may be configured as surgical grafts that may be used for soft tissue reconstruction, regeneration, or repair.

Corner-lock stitch patterns. A mesh pattern may include a first pattern of a first upper thread and a first lower thread comprising one or more first polygonal or circular rings, and a second pattern of a second upper thread and a second lower thread comprising one or more second polygonal or circular rings. At least one of the second polygonal or circular rings may overlap with at least one of the first polygonal or circular rings at an area of overlap. The area of overlap may include a corner-lock stitch pattern in which the second upper thread and second lower thread envelop the first upper thread and the first lower thread.

An attachment device with a radially expandable section is disclosed. The attachment device can have helical threads, for example, to facilitate screwing the attachment device into a bone. Methods of using the same are also disclosed. The attachment device can be positioned to radially expand the expandable section in cancellous bone substantially surrounded by cortical bone.

Compliance control stitch patterns sewn or embroidered into biotextile or medical textile substrates impart reinforcing strength, and stretch resistance and control into such substrates. Compliance control stitch patterns may be customizable to particular patients, substrate implantation sites, particular degenerative or diseased conditions, or desired time frames. Substrates having compliance control stitch patterns sewn or embroidered into them may be used in tissue repair or tissue reconstruction applications.

Materials for soft tissue repair, and in particular, material for hernia repair. These materials may be configured as an implant, such as a graft, that may be implanted into a patient in need thereof, such as a patient having a hernia or undergoing a hernia repair surgical procedure. These grafts may include a first layer comprising a substrate (e.g., mesh) and a second layer comprising a sheet of anti-adhesive material. The layers may be attached with a plurality of relatively small attachment sites that are separated by regions in which the two layers are not attached, to provide a highly compliant graft.

Implantable tensile load-bearing grafts having synthetic components stitched through biological components are disclosed. The synthetic components can be biodegradable and/or non-biodegradable and of differing tensile strengths from each other and the biological component. Methods of making the grafts are also disclosed.

Mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses including an inverting, rolling conveyor region ('tractor') at the distal end that are configured to grab and remove thrombus material. In particular, described herein are mechanical thrombectomy apparatuses that are adapted to prevent premature deployment of the tractor, e.g., by including a tractor hold (e.g., a housing, a lock, a clamp, etc.) or the like to secure the outer end of the tractor against and/or relative to the elongate inversion support.

Pre-loaded inverting tractor thrombectomy apparatuses and methods

The apparatuses and methods described herein relates generally to the field of active agent (drug) release from surgical grafts useful for soft tissue reconstruction, regeneration, or repair. More particularly, described herein are surgical grafts for soft tissue repair that include an active agent that is released over time while advantageously matching the biomechanical properties of tissue during healing and recovery.

Inverting tube thrombectomy apparatus for removing clot that are configured to prevent compression of the apparatus that may separate the distal end of the apparatus from the clot and may make it difficult to advance the apparatus to engage with the clot, particularly in a tortious vessel. The apparatuses and methods of using them described herein may be adapted to prevent tension in the flexible tube that is rolling and inverting over the distal end of the inversion support catheter when capturing a clot. Also described herein are inverting tube thrombectomy apparatus that are configured to reload either automatically or manually within the vessel to capture additional clot material.

Inverting thrombectomy apparatuses and methods of use

Stitching patterns overlap to produce a corner-locked stitch pattern. The corner-locked stitch pattern includes one or more thread interlace points, and one or more overlays of threads from overlapping patterns. A network of corner-lock stitch patterns produces a mesh, which may be embroidered into a substrate, such as a medical textile or biotextile. Corner-lock stitch patterns resist puncture-induced and tension-induced deformation of mesh pores between corner-locked stitch patterns, and may be used to modulate compliance and enhance strength properties of a substrate into which they are sewn.
