An adjustable hanging file system for a drawer having side panels utilizes frame members comprised of spaced skirts with a connecting crown to thereby define a u-shaped cross section and bracket members inserted between the skirts to support the frame members. Additional hanging bracket members incorporated with cross rail frame members support the cross rail frame members on frame members attached to a file drawer.

Adjustable hanging file system

A drawer system is provided having a frame, first and second drawers that are each slidable guidingly on the frame between open and closed positions, and a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism has a first blocking element mounted for movement relative to the frame between a blocking position and a neutral position and a second blocking element mounted for movement relative to the frame between a blocking position and a neutral position. A first actuating surface is provided on the first drawer, with a second actuating surface being provided on the second drawer. The first blocking element in its blocking position prevents the second blocking element from moving from its neutral position into its blocking position. The second blocking element in its blocking position prevents the first blocking element from moving from its neutral position into its blocking position. The first actuating surface moves the first blocking element from its neutral position into its blocking position as an incident of the first drawer moving from its closed position into its open position. The second actuating surface moves the second blocking element from its neutral position into its blocking position as an incident of the second drawer moving from its closed position into its open position.

Locking mechanism for drawer system

An electrical terminal clamping assembly of the character that will simultaneously accommodate and securely grip one or more conductor wires of substantially different diameters. The assembly includes a threaded terminal screw and a uniquely configured generally circular shaped clamping plate or tilt washer which is adapted to freely tilt relative to the undersurface of the head of the terminal screw in a manner to move gripping projections provided on the undersurface of the washer into secure clamping engagement with a wire of large diameter disposed on one side of the axial center line of the terminal screw and into secure clamping engagement with a wire of much smaller diameter disposed on the opposite side of the axial center line. The undersurface of the tilt washer is provided with several different types of uniquely configured gripping protuberances that provide multiple contact points for firmly gripping the different diameter conductor wires which are disposed on opposite sides of the terminal screw.

A method and apparatus for making a piston ring in which a metal strip having a first coefficient of expansion is coiled about a special mandrel having a second greater coefficient of expansion and a threaded form that has a zero helix angle along most of its circumference or perimeter and then a relatively steep helix angle for a short distance.

Method for making piston rings

A composite buckle comprising a metal male portion that is attachable to a strap and an insertion plate having two flat surfaces, and a female portion for receiving the male portion. The female portion comprises a metal locking body that is attachable to a strap and at least two locking legs adapted to releasably lock with the insertion plate of the male portion. The male portion is inserted between the two locking legs which engage the plate on opposite surfaces of the plate. There is a plastic housing surrounding at least a portion of the metal locking body. The housing has a flexible arm adapted to separate the locking legs and release the metal locking body from the male portion. The buckle according to the invention combines the strength of a metal buckle with the light weight and attractiveness of a plastic buckle, to form a composite buckle that is suitable for a variety of uses.

High strength composite buckle

A method and apparatus for making non-circular piston rings which will precisely sealably conform to the cylinder wall of an internal combustion engine. In accordance with the method of the invention a metal strip of special cross-sectional configuration is coiled about a specially configured mandrel which is non-circular in cross section. Preferably the coiling mandrel is provided with a circumferentially interrupted thread form that has a zero helix angle along most of its circumference. During the coiling operation, using this type of mandrel, the metal strip is preformed at specific locations along its length into an angled configuration to form a coil body having a plurality of coils that have a zero helix angle along most of their circumference and a relatively steep helix angle for a short distance. After the coil is formed, the helix angle portions are cut therefrom to provide a plurality of generally planer, interrupted rings.

Method and apparatus for making piston rings

A method for making non-circular piston rings which will precisely sealably conform to the cylinder wall of an internal combustion engine. In accordance with the method a metal strip of special cross-sectional configuration is coiled about a specially configured mandrel which is non-circular in cross section. A fuse structure for automatically resetting fuses is in the form of a housing for enclosing a resettable fuse circuit pack. The housing comprises a plurality of identically constructed shells. A plurality of ferrule mounts is disposed on the housing, and annular indentations are disposed on the ferrule mounts. Locking surfaces are located on the shells, and ferrules are placed on the ferrule mounts. A positive stop portion is positioned on the shells, and is associated with each ferrule mount for locating the ferrules on the ferrule mounts. New fuse circuits are also provided for insertion into the fuse structure.

Fuse structure

A telephone protector is contained within a housing having an input connection and an output connection. The protector comprises an externally accessible fuse compartment having fuse contact pairs. A removable fuse holder capable of locating a fuse within the fuse compartment is provided. A fuse holding element is disposed on the removable fuse holder capable of holding fuses with respect to the removable fuse holder and positioning the fuse in engagement with the fuse contact pairs. Strain relief means is provided to reduce strain on the wires entering the housing.

A fuse having a rated current for protecting electric or electronic circuitry comprises a body having a blow chamber. A fusible element is contained within the body and extends through the blow chamber. A contact is disposed on the body electrically connected to the fusible element for making an electrical connection between the fuse and the circuitry. The blow chamber is sealed around the fusible element so that thermal energy in the fusible element can increase within the blow chamber for causing the element to open when an elevated current is applied to the element. The blow chamber is sufficiently sealed around the element for retaining a pressure created therewithin by vaporization of a portion of the element; that pressure is sufficient to cause an arc produced by fusion of the element to extinguish. The body is of sufficient strength to contain the pressure within the blow chamber for allowing the fuse to fail gracefully. Thermal conductive cement is disposed about the entire fusible element without the blow chamber for preventing the fusible element from opening without the blow chamber before opening within the blow chamber.

A fuse assembly has snubber/indicators which are visible through translucent lenses provided within the fuse cover, for indication and inspection of the fuse operability. The snubbers provide a shearing load upon the fuse filament so as to more positively separate the fuse segments of a ruptured filament, which snubbers may also envelop and insulate the conductor posts and separate the ruptured fuse elements so as to inhibit arcing within the 'blown' fuse.

Indicating fuse assembly

A lightning protector assembly for telephone circuitry and the like includes a housing formed of a lower necked terminal section and an upper expanded grounding section. A component-mounting member is disposed within the housing for mounting a first pair of voltage limiting devices and a first pair of impedance devices. There are cavities provided in the lower part of the component-mounting member for receipt of a plurality of terminal contacts. The upper section has a pair of top recesses separated by a central bridging portion. Plug-in fuse holder units are disposed within the top recesses. A side ground contact is provided and includes an elongated horizontal member extending inside and across the width of the housing for connection to the first pair of voltage limiting means and a portion thereof extending externally of the housing.
