In implementations of path-constrained drawing with visual properties based on a drawing tool, a digital artwork editing system includes a user interface in which a constraint path can be designated in a digital artwork. A stroke input can be sampled as it is drawn with a drawing tool and for each processing interval of the stroke input, a start point of the stroke input and a tangent line to the constraint path is determined. An end point of the stroke input is projected onto a parallel line that is through the start point and parallel to the tangent line, and a stroke is rendered along this line. Hence, the stroke is rendered based on the stroke input in a piecewise linear fashion, simultaneously constrained by the constraint path and rendered based on how the drawing tool is used.

This disclosure relates to methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that determine multiple personas corresponding to a user account for digital content and train a persona classifier to predict a given persona (from among the multiple personas) for content requests associated with the user account. By using the persona classifier, the disclosed methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems accurately detect a given persona for a content request upon initiation of the request. Based on determining the given persona, in some implementations, the methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems generate a digital-content recommendation for presentation on a client device associated with the user account.

Predicting digital personas for digital-content recommendations using a machine-learning-based persona classifier

A digital medium environment includes a content provider that receives a request for content and provides the requested content to a computing device. An improved advertisement detection method implemented by the content provider comprises determining whether the requesting computing device is blocking advertisements provided with the content. If the requesting computing device is blocking advertisements, the content provider may prevent the requested content from being displayed unless a user of the requesting device selects an alternate option for viewing the requested content. Alternate options for viewing the requested content include purchasing a subscription to the content provider, paying the content provider to view only the requested content, or enabling display of advertisements at the requesting computing device. The improved advertisement detection method protects content provider revenue streams and informs users of alternate options for viewing content from a trusted content source.

Content viewing options when advertisements are blocked

Methods and devices are disclosed herein for detecting and responding to changes in eye conditions during presentation of video on electronic devices. One embodiment involves monitoring, via an electronic tracking device, an eye of a person watching a video on an electronic device to monitor a viewing direction of the eye. The embodiment determines that the person is watching the video based on the viewing direction of the eye and detects a change in the viewing direction of the eye. In response to detecting the change in viewing direction of the eye, the embodiment determines that the person is focused on something other than the video based on additional monitoring of the eye. Presentation of the video is changed based on determining that the person is focused on something other than the video. For example, the video may be paused, discontinued, minimized, or a targeted advertisement inserted.

Methods and devices for detecting and responding to changes in eye conditions during presentation of video on electronic devices

The present disclosure is directed toward tracking visual gaze information. Methods and systems of the present disclosure track a visual gaze of a user with respect to a display of a computing device. In particular, one or more embodiments track a visual gaze of a user with respect to content on a display. The methods and systems can use information about the visual gaze of the user for use in improving the presentation of content. For example, the systems and methods can increase a display size or volume of content in response to the visual gaze of the user. Still further, the methods and systems can use the visual gaze information for providing analytics regarding the viewing habits of the user.

Tracking visual gaze information for controlling content display

A digitally signed manifest file includes metadata that specifies whether a policy regarding the digital signature should be enforced. The policy is then used to generate additional metadata associated with the program and ad content of the video stream. The metadata is tamper resistant so that any modification or removal of the metadata will prevent the video stream from playing. If the metadata indicates that the policy should be enforced, the digital signature of the manifest is verified by the client, and an invalid or missing signature prevents the video stream from being played back. The metadata defines which media players are allowed and/or not allowed to play back a video stream, including media players that are configured to skip or remove ads, and/or includes an encryption key identifier for verifying the digital signature. The ad content is digitally signed to prevent modification or replacement of the ad content.

Preventing playback of streaming video if ads are removed

A method of enforcing network bandwidth limitation includes receiving a request from a client for transmission of a server's feed data and receiving a client timestamp from the client. The method further includes determining if feed data in a previous transmission from the server to the client has been lost, and if so, reimbursing the client for the lost data. The method further includes determining if the client is eligible to receive the requested feed data transmission from the server, and if the client is eligible, then immediately transmitting of the most recent available requested feed data from the server to the client, but if the client is not eligible, then preventing the transmission and withholding the feed data from the client without prolonging the duration of any network connection from the server to the client.
