Compounds are identified that act as crystallization suppressants when added to clear brine fluids, significantly lowering the true crystallization temperatures of the brines, and allowing for higher salt content in clear brine fluids. The crystallization suppressants of the invention also allow for the preparation of higher density zinc free brines. Crystallization suppressant blends are also identified that allow for the preparation of high density clear brine fluids with lower viscosities.

Crystallization suppressant combinations for high density clear brine fluids

Compounds are identified that act as crystallization suppressants when added to clear brine fluids, significantly lowering the true crystallization temperatures of the brines, and allowing for higher salt content in clear brine fluids. The crystallization suppressants of the invention also allow for the preparation of higher density zinc free brines.

High densitiy clear brine fluids

A toner having at least one binder, at least one colorant and external additives. The external additives include at least one of silica and titania, and at least two metal stearates. A developer may be produced including the toner having at least two metal stearates and a carrier. An electrophotographic machine includes the toner with two metal stearates.

Particle external surface additive compositions

Detection of the presence and amount of an external surface additive such as silica upon the surface of a toner is accomplished by treating the external surface additive with a fluorescent material and exposing the toner to ultraviolet light. This permits accurate quality control over the amount of the external surface additive required for the toner. The toner thus includes a binder resin and a colorant, and at least one external surface additive upon the surface of the toner, wherein the at least one external surface additive contains a fluorescent material. The fluorescent material may be a fluorescein dye.
