A child safety lid is provided and used to close the opening of content containers including rigid and flexible containers/bags. The cover requires a multiple step process in order to be removed and helps to prevent inadvertent or accidental openings of the container. The lid/cover can comprise a top member, a locking member, a bottom member and a seal member. The top member can be secured to the bottom member with the locking member captured therebetween and the seal member can extend downward from the bottom member and contact an internal shelf/ledge disposed within the container near the container opening. In one embodiment, the seal member and bottom member can be bonded to each other through an overmolding process. In one embodiment, the seal can be constructed from an elastomer material.

The mechanical shock isolation member (760, 762, 1312) further comprises protuberances (1314) mechanically coupled to and extending perpendicularly from the planar surface (1315) for absorbing a tolerance build-up.

A latching device (110) for use in a latch system for a housing comprising first and second housing sections (102, 104), comprises a battery compartment (107) and a latch member (112) adjacent to the battery compartment. The latch member (112) is for coupling to the second housing section (104) to latch the first and second housing sections (102, 104) when the latch member (112) is in a first position and to unlatch the first and second housing sections (102, 104) when the latch member (112) is in a second position. The latching device (110) further comprises a movable extender member (114) coupled between the first housing section (102) and the latch member (112) for extending the latch member (112) into the second housing section (104) and for allowing the latch member (112) to move between the first and second positions, the latch member (112) being prevented from moving into the second position when a battery (106) is in the battery compartment (107).

An enclosure latch system includes an insertable member (106) connected to a first enclosure section (102), and a mating recess (108) within a second enclosure section (104) for engaging with the insertable member (106), thereby latching the first and second enclosure sections (102, 104) together. The insertable member (106) includes an extender member (202) connected at an attachment end to the first enclosure section (102) for extending the insertable member (106) into the second enclosure section (104), and a latch tooth (204) protruding from the extender member (202) near a free end. The latch tooth (204) has a mating surface (206, 208) that tapers from flat on a first side to cylindrical on a second side opposite the first side for latching the first and second enclosure sections (102, 104) when the latch tooth (204) is in the mating recess (108). The mating surface (206, 208) functions further for unlatching the first and second enclosure sections (102, 104) by forcibly removing the latch tooth (204) from the mating recess (108) in response to a directional torque (210).

The latch (100) comprises a slide member (102) coupled to a snap member (104) formed substantially in the shape of a U. The snap member (104) comprises a mounting end (106) forming the bottom of the U, and two snap arms (108) forming the two sides of the U. The snap member (104) is supported at a distance from the slide member (102), the distance being sufficient to clear walls of the housing (202). The latch (100) further comprises a header block (112) coupled to the slide member (102) between the two snap arms (108) for minimizing deflection of the two snap arms (108) towards the slide member (102) during assembly of the latch (100).

A belt clip assembly clamps a device (30) onto thin material. The device has a backcover (31) which includes a first set of ears (32) with a first set of pin holes. The belt clip assembly comprises a belt clip (44), a pin (130), and a spring (100). The belt clip (44) has a second set of ears (24,26) with a second set of pin holes (20,22); the pin (130) passes through the first set of pin holes and the second set of pin holes (20,22) for establishing an axis of rotation (56); and the spring (100) is formed to apply force to maintain the belt clip (44) in a closed position against the back cover (31). The spring (100) has a retaining ring (120) formed integrally therewith. The retaining ring (120) couples to the pin (130) for retaining the pin (130) within the first and second set of pin holes (20,22).

An electronic device includes a printed circuit board for mounting electronic components thereon. An antenna, such as a dual loop antenna, is secured to the printed circuit board and acts as a bezel to mount a display, such as a liquid crystal display, onto the printed circuit board. A lens cap through which the display may be viewed is positioned over the display and is detachably coupled to the antenna for securing the display to the antenna/bezel.
