A reversible fiber optic cassette for mounting in a rack comprising a cassette receiving tray, the tray comprising a plurality of cassette engaging features is disclosed. The cassette comprises a cassette body comprising optic fiber receptacles arranged along a front of thereof, a multifiber receptacle along a back thereof and a plurality of optic fiber segments each between a respective one of the optic fiber receptacles and the multifiber receptacle, and a securing component comprising a main part comprising a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, a cassette engaging part extending from the first surface for engaging with the cassette body, a tray engaging feature extending from the second surface and engageable with one of the cassette engaging features. The reversible securing component is secureable on either side of the cassette body using the cassette engaging feature.

There is disclosed a fiber optic cassette comprising a cassette body comprising a plurality of optic fiber receptacles arranged along a front thereof and a multifiber receptacle along a back thereof opposite the first end, the front and back defining a cable assembly receiving region there between, and a plurality of optic fibers. Each of the optic fibers terminated at a first end by one of the receptacles and all of the plurality of optic fibers terminated at a second end the multifiber receptacle. In an embodiment a casing is molded over a middle portion of each of the plurality of optic fibers and received within the cable assembly receiving region. In a particular embodiment the cassette is reversible and comprises a reversible securing element which is secureable on either side of the cassette body.

A reversible fiber optic cassette is disclosed for mounting in one of a first orientation and a second reversed orientation on a tray a plurality of stabilizing slots. At least one stabilizing member is held within a respective aperture in a cassette bottom such that an L-shaped slot engaging portion extends above the first surface and a second L-shaped slot engaging portion extends above the second surface. Each of the second L-shaped slot engaging portions engages with a respective one of the stabilizing slots when the cassette is on the tray in the first orientation and each of the first slot engaging portions engages with a respective one of the stabilizing slots when the cassette is on the tray in the second reversed orientation.

The cassette comprises a plurality of optic fiber receptacles arranged along a front thereof, a multifiber receptacle on a back thereof and a plurality of optic fiber segments each between a respective one of the optic fiber receptacles and the multifiber receptacle, a first tray engaging feature extending from the first surface and configured for engaging with one of the cassette engaging features, a second tray engaging feature extending from the second surface and configured for engaging with one of the cassette engaging features; and a release mechanism comprising an actuator for selectively disengaging the tray engaging feature from the engaged one of the cassette engaging features.

A reversible fiber optic cassette for mounting with other like cassettes in a rack comprising a cassette receiving tray, the tray comprising a plurality of cassette engaging features on an upper surface is disclosed. The cassette comprises N duplex pairs of optic fiber receptacles arranged along a front thereof, a multifiber receptacle on a back thereof and 2*N optic fiber segments each between a respective one of the optic fiber receptacles and the multifiber receptacle, N discrete port identifiers on a first surface thereof and N discrete port identifiers on a second surface opposite the first surface. The first set of N identifiers is the same as the second set of N identifiers and for M between 1 to N, an Mport identifier of the first set and an (N-M+1)port identifier of the second set is adjacent an Mone of the duplex pairs of optic fiber receptacles.

A patch cable and system for interconnecting a pair of terminals, each of the terminals comprising a terminal RFID transponder comprising a unique ID, and for use with a cradle comprising a cradle RFID antenna. The patch cable comprises a pair of connectors, one of the connectors at each end of and interconnected by a guided transmission medium, a connector RFID antenna associated with each of the pair of connectors, a cable RFID transponder positioned along the patch cable between the connectors for communicating with the cradle RFID antenna. When the cable RFID transponder is brought into proximity with the cradle RFID antenna, RF signals emitted by the cradle RFID antenna provide power to and communications with the cable RFID transponder for powering the connector RFID antennas and retrieving the unique IDs of the pair of terminals and communicating the unique IDs to the cradle.
