A connector assembly for use in a medical device system is provided. The connector assembly includes a female connector including a jack and at least one female electrical contact disposed in the jack, where the at least one female electrical contact includes an outer ring and leaf springs extending both radially inward from the outer ring and longitudinally along the jack. The connector assembly also includes a male connector including a plug adapted to be inserted into the jack of the female connector, and at least one male electrical contact disposed on the plug, where the at least one male electrical contact is configured to electrically couple to a corresponding female electrical contact of the at least one female electrical contact by contacting the plurality of leaf springs of the corresponding female electrical contact when the plug of the male connector is inserted into the jack of the female connector.

Systems and methods for medical device connectors

Disclosed herein is an implantable blood pump assembly that includes a housing defining an inlet, an outlet, and a flow path extending from the inlet to the outlet, a rotor positioned within the flow path, a stator positioned within the housing and operable to drive the rotor, and an outflow cannula. The outflow cannula includes a coupler assembly configured for removable mechanical connection to the outlet coupler, and includes a first component of an anti-rotation mechanism and a first component of an axial lock. The housing includes an outlet coupler that includes a second component of the anti-rotation mechanism and a second component of the axial lock. The first and second components of the anti-rotation mechanism are positioned to engage one another prior to the first and second components of the axial lock during insertion of the outflow cannula into the housing outlet.

Implantable blood pump assembly including anti-rotation mechanism for outflow cannula and method of assembling same

Disclosed herein is an outflow graft assembly for an implantable blood pump. The outflow graft assembly includes a graft, a locking nut including a plurality of planar edges and a plurality of corners, and a U-shaped fixation clip. The U-shaped fixation clip includes a first flat segment including a first flexure including a first locking feature, a second flat segment including a second flexure including a second locking feature, an arcuate segment extending between the first flat segment and the second flat segment, and a lip including a first flat and a second flat. The U-shaped fixation clip is configured to engage the locking nut such that the first and second locking features contact associated corners of the plurality of corners and the first and second flats contact associated planar edges of the plurality of planar edges, thereby preventing rotation of the locking nut relative to the fixation clip.

Implantable blood pump assembly including outflow graft fixation clip

In one general aspect, a cuff for attachment to a heart includes an attachment component configured to engage a blood pump to attach the cuff to the blood pump and a sewing ring for attachment to the heart. The sewing ring is coupled to the attachment component, and the attachment component and the sewing ring each define a central opening configured to admit an inflow cannula of a blood pump. The sewing ring comprises a member that provides rigidity to flatten a portion of a myocardium of the heart when the cuff is attached to the heart.
