An assembly for mixing and dispensing a multi-component fluid includes a sheath having first and second fluid chambers, a chamber coupler, and a flexible tip. The chamber coupler forms first and second fluid channels. Additionally, the flexible tip forms a mixing chamber with a variable mixing volume and an outlet. The flexible tip is coupled to the chamber coupler near a distal end of the sheath. In the presence of an activation force, the flexible tip is forced out of the sheath and positioned in a dispensing state with a maximum mixing volume. In the absence of the activation force, the flexible tip is housed within the sheath and positioned in a non-dispensing state with a minimum mixing volume such that the outlet is substantially closed.

Non-clogging dispensing device

A medical delivery device is provided for delivering a medicinal substance into a user's body. An upper assembly includes a housing having a cavity configured for accommodating a needle. A lower assembly includes a receptacle member having an opening configured for accommodating insertion of the upper assembly, and a base member having an upper body and a recess formed on a top surface of the upper body for receiving the receptacle member. A base pad has an adhesive layer disposed on a lower surface of the pad, and being at least partially attached to a bottom side of the base member. The lower assembly is attached to a skin of the user using the base pad. As the upper assembly transitions from an upper position to a lower position relative to the lower assembly, the needle travels downwardly to penetrate the skin for facilitating administration of the medicinal substance.

Percutaneous administration device and method for injecting medicinal substances

Methods for making antimicrobial resins and for forming coatings comprising antimicrobial resins on substrate surfaces are disclosed. The methods involve providing a mixture comprising about 15 weight % to about 80 weight % of a hydrophilic acrylic oligomer, about 10 weight % to about 80 weight % of a multifunctional acrylic monomer, about 5 weight % to about 40 weight % of an adhesion-promoting acrylic or vinyl monomer, and about 0.1 weight % to about 15 weight % of a metal salt; and exposing the mixture to a radiation source to cure at least a portion of the mixture, thereby forming an antimicrobial resin.

Antimicrobial resin compositions

A medical device, such as a vascular access device, is disclosed for providing access to a medical fluid flow path for the introduction or withdrawal of medical fluids to and from the flow path. The access device includes an indicator for providing a visual indication when the access device has been exposed to an antiseptic agent.

Methods for processing substrate surfaces carrying coatings comprising a metal are disclosed. The methods involve providing a substrate surface having a coating comprising a metal, and exposing the substrate surface to a mixture including an oxidizing agent and an anion.

Methods for processing substrates having an antimicrobial coating

A needleless valve assembly includes a needleless connector having a housing with an inlet end with an inlet opening and an outlet end with an outlet opening, and a valve disposed in the housing to control passage between the openings. The assembly also includes a collar having an exterior surface and an interior surface, and a first end with a collar opening communicating between the interior surface and the exterior surface and a second end moveably attached to the housing. Further, the assembly includes a barrier disposed across the collar opening with a slit therethrough and including an anti-microbial material. The collar is moveable relative to the housing so that the inlet end of the housing depends past the exterior surface of the collar through the slit in the barrier. A kit may include the assembly and a catheter having a first end attached to the outlet opening.
